Thanks guys, yeah I knew 2mm difference is very noticeable just wasn't sure about 1mm.
I hope it won't bug me too much.

@moky it's going on the black out Citizen watch I posted earlier.
Now I just gotta source a cheap PVD buckle. Been looking everywhere and cheapest I can find is ~$10 on eBay. UNLESS, some one is planning to buy some straps from CrownandBuckle then I could split the shipping with you. They have PVD buckles at $8.50

Also going to buy some Zulu straps from Gnomon Watch tonight so if anyone wants free shipping you can pm me and I'll add it to my order.

You must've been :megusta: when opening the box.

Personally not a big fan of black/red face, but very nice watch regardless. Congrats on your purchase :fullofwin:!

Sid Vicious 12-08-2011 08:59 PM

Although its not a luxury watch, rather, a more casual and perky watch... how many here indulge on g-shocks? For those that collect g-shocks, where do you purchase them?

PJ 12-09-2011 03:52 PM

I have a Gshock dw6900 in my watch collection. No shame lol. I usually only wear it on sweatpants occasions, or whenever it doesn't make sense to wear a Rolex. Though I do know people who daily wear their Rolexes regardless of what they're doing :spin:.

I randomly bought my Gshock from eBay on impulse. Be careful though, there's a lot of fakes. Make sure its an authorized Casio dealer. Even locally, theyre only around $100 at Boy'sCo.

BlackZRoadster 12-09-2011 05:47 PM

I wear my Rolex sub everywhere while doing anything. Washing my car, dishes, cooking, shower lol

Only time I take off is when I'm sleeping lol

Same for my fiancée Rolex she wears it daily

^ Lol respect.
Yeah some of my friends wear theirs everyday no matter what they're doing. One of theirs is pretty banged up, but they always jokingly say it gives it character. :fullofwin:

I just can't wear my Rolex with sweatpants. Feels awkward lol
I also swapped in a leather strap, so I can't exactly get it wet either

abdulclamwacker 12-09-2011 11:44 PM

Actually I've been looking for a G-Shock for my kid, but I just end up being tired from looking at so many models. Isn't there a website that compares models better than the Casio site? I'll know the ins and outs of a mechanical watch, but G-Shocks... ugh.. headache.

mruppal 12-10-2011 11:41 AM

any places that would fix a rado watch? the winder on the watch my dad gave me doesnt work, i wanted to fix it.
this one in particular

its just i love it so much and get so used to it.

I have 2 cheaper watches that i should really watch. I have a G-shock titanium frogman watch. It's built like a tank, but it only goes well with sports wear. But so does the sub lol...my sub is seeing some wear, and my fiancee's bracelet is kinda scuffed too. Might refinish in another 5 years.

How do you like the leather strap? which rolex did you put it on?

PJ 12-10-2011 03:35 PM

Rolex sub. I just got some random leather strap off ebay for like $20.

EXV603 12-10-2011 08:03 PM

Where did you guys buy your Rolex watches from? And how much. I am thinking about buying one for myself. I found some online for prices around $6500 - $7500.

Found this article today: Swatch, Supplier to Rivals, Now Aims to Cut Them Off

In a nutshell: Swatch owned movement company ETA will reduce the amount of movements being supplied to Swiss watch companies starting Jan 2st. As a result, 9 companies including Tag Heuer, Frederick Constant, Edox and others are filing a class-action lawsuit against Swatch.

A good interesting read. For all the enthusiasts in the thread, what are you thoughts on this? Good? Bad? Impartial?

I think it's good since, IMO, there are too many watch companies out there getting away with charging thousands for their name and using generic, unmodified ETA movements.

Try Otto Friedl in Hotel Vancouver. I'm certain they do re-luming.

Lol

There are so many different models, you can even get one online for less than 5000. It all depends on the model, which one have you been eyeing?

Just purchased my first AUTOMATIC Seiko 5, always heard good things about Seiko plus I love the quartz one that I already have. Purchased a black alligator leather band as well.

Seiko 5 line shouldn't disappoint especially with the 7s26 movement with 21 jewels
