sorry to be noob... but kinda curious. How exactly do you mod a watch? And what is the purpose of doing so?
Modding a watch is pretty much like modding a car. You change certain items like the hour/minute/second hands, change the dial/face, change the bezel, having it ceramic coated.
People with Rolexes sometimes get their Subs or GMTs coated in black, change the face, paint the bezel, because they want a custom look (*Bamford, Project X). Some Omega owners would switch out faces and subdials (of a chrono) also for a unique look (*check out PANDA SPEEDMASTER).
Other people who are fans of Seikos would go more extreme, changing out almost everything and use just the movement and casing. Especially popular is the Seiko Diver model SKX007. Just google SKX007 mods and there'll be plenty of samples there
I am looking for a full frontal face skeleton watch. I really like one from hamilton but it also comes with a hefty price tag, and no one has it in store for me to actually see physically...
Been looking at those watches for awhile. Thoughts on your purchase?
I love Lum-Tec this is my 3rd one. Great watches for the price. Really solid and tough. I have a Bull that i wear daily and its i bang it up and all, great everyday watch. And its not something that everyone has. The M series is my fav since they come with leather, rubber and a metal strap so you can swap them out. Its like 3 in 1 lol. Hit up Wrist Weapon and tell him CD5 sent you maybe we can do a group buy or something. I really want to get a M thats automatic too.
hey guys, i need a new digital watch that is cheap. I saw this white g shock that looks pretty nice (cus it is all white). Any thoughts about it? anyone know the price and where i can snag one local?
I have 3 now and am itching to buy the M51 Phantom.
Let me know if you are going to buy another M soon, I'm sure we can get a few guys together on here or from watchuseek to do a GB.
Anyone else in? Lets do it.

holy shit alot of you here seem to have a big collection of watches. So honestly, how much do you guys splurge on watches? and how many do you have in total?
There are no principles, there are only events. There is no good and bad, there are only circumstances. The superior espouses events and circumstances in order to guide them.

Not sure if serious.. Regardless.. Check BoysCo, J2, and that watch place next to EB in Oakridge.. retail I think is around 150? Online is cheaper but there's a lot of fakes, so be careful.

@ myself. I have around 8?.. I lost count. 2 higher-end ones (Rolex Sub, Omega Speedmaster), and a bunch of random beaters (Fossil, Diesel, Gshock, Tissot, Vestal, whatever). All bought on impulse. I give the cheaper ones away to my cousins and stuff when I'm bored of them.
It doesn't really matter who spends how much on what. Everyone likes different things. Though still.. watches are a bad addiction. But I don't drive a luxury German car, and I don't spend much on clothing (most my t-shirts are probably under $15, and I only have like 3 pairs of shoes..), so I don't feel that bad

Could someone educate me on Lum-Tec watches?
Most of them are Quartz movement and I've read lume comparisons and ppl who own both say that Seiko's diver watches have better lume.
What's makes Lum-Tec so great? I assume the better build quality and material. Also, newer and more fashionable design I guess.

i've also seen some lume comparisons where Seiko has lume that lights up like a torch!
i'll agree with the fashionable design though. at least it doesn't look like a ripoff design or something like an homage like plenty of boutique brands (which, of course there's also nothing wrong with it).
