1st thought of a gold watch is being overly flashly. But gold watches can be artfully downplayed paired with a leather strap like this for instance:

Yeah those are rose gold. But even with standard gold it can still be downplayed with a leather strap.

I hope you're not being sarcastic with the "unique" there, cus even though it might come across to you as being an average joe watch, its quite the piece for me since its my first watch... I was gonna settle for a seiko but this one had a solar battery which really awed me

Other than swapping out the strap, is modding watches really a thing?

Well, there are a lot of aftermarket parts (dials, hands, etc) for Seiko automatic watches....but I don't think there are any parts for Citizen eco-drive watches? So, yeah probably only strap change for that Citizen....

lol he's settling with a watch that cost about $600 at one point....riiiight.

Don't touch any of the inside parts on that watch if you value your warranty. Eco-Drive watches are delicate and very expensive to repair. I don't know why you would even want to touch that watch. I would just leave it the way it is.

Hey guys, where do you recommend buying an Omega or Tag watch? I have been to Siba and what not but was wondering if there was a better resource online or something? Looking to make my first watch purchase ... Thanks!

I dont disagree with what you said but I think the majority of PAM owners are trying to go for the oversized look.

Stallone use to wear the typical 44mm but is apparently now rockin the 47, 49and even 60mm versions.

You cn definitly save a lot of money buying online however most local AD's wont perform any warranty or service work should you need it simce you purchased it online. Thanfully the Omega Service Center is in Coquitlam I beleive so if you should ever have a problem at least it's local. The Canadian TAG Service Center is in Ontario.

Both have their pro's and con's. Personally I'd buy online and save yourself the thousands. If you're anything like me you'll likely only have the watch say 5 years then sell it for something newer.
I was in Golden Tree Jewelers about 2 weeks ago trying on a new TAG Heuer Monaco CW2111 which was 5900$ and my "special" price was 5100$ after proscrastinating to the salesman for about 15 mins. The same watch sells for 4095$ on AuthenticWatches.com

Stallone can pull off a 60, he's so pumped full of steroids and growth hormone

But the guy who posted their pics should definitely be wearing something smaller, even if he is going for the oversized look It's supposed to be a bad ass navy watch, but the strap almost wraps around his wrist twice

I want to get a Seiko diver for this exact reason just to mess around with.

There's so many different dials, hands, faces, straps, etc that are very readily available. Every time you change something, it probably feels like a while new watch. So much personalization potential

I could do the same with my Rolex diver.. but other than changing the straps, it doesn't feel right changing anything else.
