Heck, I change straps on all of my watches all the time and never scratched the lugs.

Just brought my watch for them to polish. Turned out great and the watchmaker admitted that he made all the scratches.
I'm generally happy with the polish results, but that guys got such poor manners.
I had to get him to polish it twice cuz there were still scraches after the first attempt.
I'm suprised that he admitted to making the scratches. But he should have notified me on the day.

I may buy another watch from them but definitely would not bring anything for them to service. And I would advise that to anyone. Go somewhere else for service. Never experienced such bad service.

I sold my Bell & Ross BR01-92 this week to one hell of a local collector; had nearly 100k in Vintage and Modern Watches. Thinking about something new for my collection now any suggestions? I'm leaning more towards the Sport Chrono's.

I've been on a selling spree too lately...
Only have 3-4 watches now in my collection....well 2 of them are beaters.
Who wants to buy my last 2.......Seiko MarineMaster and the Helson Sharkmaster 600 in white.

I'm looking to finally settling for my grail....Omega PO XL Orange numerals with black bezel, or do you guys have any recommendation for something under 4k? Preferably in the 2-3k range.

I'm looking at the Oris Aquis Date in blue, as something in the ~1200-1500 range. Does anyone know where I can look at these in person. I think "Its about time" in langley is a AD, but are there any other dealers out there; also if anyone has experience with the watch maybe some opinions.

Finally, any suggestions for a 1000-1500 $ diver are welcomed.

^^ i have an oris aquis date with the rubber strap on. it's my go-to-watch pretty much daily. bezel shows no signs of wear, same with the rubber strap. deployment clasp is another thing tho, but that can be polished out anytime! it has a nice wrist presence but can still fit under a cuff. my suggestion would be to get it in the metal bracelet tho. it wears true to size of the 43mm

Sweet! The more I look at it, the more it fits the niche I want to fill in my collection.

If you don't mind me asking, from where did you acquire it?

cantona, i got the watch down in the states sometime last summer!
it's a great watch, and if u get the rubber deployment strap variant, you're going to appreciate the microadjustments on the clasp itself

Hi guys, I have a Skagen titanium watch. It recently ran out of battery. I didn't see any screws on the back, and can't seem to open it. What do you guys usually do when this happens? Where is a good place to bring it to get the battery installed?

If there isnt any notches as in a screw back case, then i think the Skagen has a snap case back, which means that to pry it off, there is a probably a small groove/opening somewhere along the circumference of the case back which allows access to a case back opener like these Snap Back Watch Case Openers

Leverage with a tool like those above, or maybe even a flat head screwdriver ?, will pop it off.

If not, Any watchmaker could handle it. I haven't been to one in ages, but I used to take my quartz watches to The Bay for battery replacement.

What is a good price for battery replacement, I have no clue, maybe another member can add !

^^^Nice impulse buy, I've always been on the edge of wanting a Lum-Tec, maybe ill pick one up too one day.

Now for my latest cop, well, I noticed that Helson had the 42mm sharkdiver blue dial in stock, and I've always lusted after it, last time I check they were out of stock and I couldn't find any for sale, so I pulled the trigger on it instead of the Oris Aquis.

I love the toolishness :P of the watch, the thick bezel, bezel/font style, the color which I hope is twice as nice looking then photos depict, the hand set and dial and I love those solid looking crown guards....I'm just rambling now, but I wanted a blue faced diver/sport, and at half the price I was willing to spend, hopefully this hits the spot.

Might pick up another g-shock with some left over funds too lol.
