SkinnyPupp 08-05-2013 01:27 AM

Has anyone plasti-dipped their watch yet? :lawl:

PJ 08-05-2013 08:58 AM

Thought about it, but I smack my watch around so often that it'll probably chip off in a matter of days.

Also, kinda worried about plastic leaking into little cracks and stuff that you won't be able to peel off.

Would be fun to try on some random beater watch next time I have left over plasti

I own 3 watches, nothing special.. Hugo Boss, Esquire & Nixon.

Lomac 08-08-2013 07:17 PM

Got bored on my lunch break today and wandered into the jewellery store next door. Walked out a minute later with this:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...03211108_n.jpg

Nothing special but it caught my eye and I like shiny things. :lol

Also placed an order for one of the Seiko Sportura's. Almost bought one of the G Shocks as well. I like how light they are but the ones I really liked either had shitty 6 o'clock-based lighting or were waaaay too tall.

meme405 08-09-2013 10:38 AM

I should be receiving my white pebble at some point this lifetime.

I have been waiting for over a year. Im so pissed off with them its ridiculous. If I had ordered black I couldve had it like 4 months ago, just because I wanted white I have waited all this extra time. The pebble team, has pissed me off to no end with their stupid logistics.

How do you like the Suunto? I've been eyeing that specific model for a little while now but all the reviews I read seem to be either love or hate. Not sure if the issues people are having are from poor QC or just user error.

Love the Breitling, btw.

i have the suunto Core for over 8 yrs. i stopped using it cause i have had osme issues with the battery (after replacing it, it wouldn't work. anyhoo, it is very different, but yes, for temp. you'll always get different readings cause of body heat. as for depth, i've taken it scuba diving and it works.
the compass is a hit and a miss.

My Suunto Core's been pretty good in terms of functionality all except for the compass it always likes to reset itself. I feel like it eats up a lot of battery as well I have to change every 6 months or so but all in all it's a very sturdy watch and the rubber strap is almost indestructible.

Is there anywhere I can get a hold of a pin pusher for the pins that connect the links together locally? Or do you guys have any tips and tricks to get those pins out?

This has probably been asked, but I don't frequent this thread often.

Thanks!!

goaleR 08-12-2013 10:55 PM

I've used a sewing needle...it does the job.

HondaGuy 08-13-2013 12:56 AM

^^ if you go to daiso in aberdeen, they sell this tool that lets you rest your watch band, and then this needle pokes through to release the pin.

It looks very similar to the ones jewelers/watch repair ppl use, but simpler and lighter. Only cost $2

Nothing special compared to you guys, but just picked this up today. Cheap beater watch, but looks nice enough to be the type of business I do, as well as everyday casual wear!

Yea srs! They recently revived the old designs of their watches. http://www.braun-clocks.com/watches

I hope you know that Braun is famous for design? Not just shavers as they are mostly known for now, e.g. the iphone calculator design is an exact replica of the braun calculator back in the days.

Its just a beater watch, nothing special, it was like 200 bucks. I like the design of it, super clean. I was looking at other similar styles but I cant spend that sort of money yet. One day ill get a seamaster, those are sick!
