I'm seriously considering getting one of these watches primarily as a dress watch, but I'm just not sure which one. I'm leaning toward the chronograph, but its wayyyy chunkier than the non-chronograph (11 vs 8mm).

What do you guys think?

Both look nice. Will you ever need the chronograph?

Its a tough decision but I'd go with the plain one. Its a cleaner, simpler look. Plus its thinner.

Nope, can't say I ever will need the chronograph. Although...it would be nice to have and it would allow me to dress down the watch as well. And I agree - the plain one does look cleaner and more elegant and would make a much better dress watch, but on the flip side, it looks too dressy to be worn casually?

I really like that second one. That clean style really does it for me. Pretty sure my next purchase is going to be a Visodate.

I replaced my classic and much loved PRC200 after it developed a problem keeping time well after its warranty period and with the cost of the full service to get it back to running properly (about $150) and the trade-in value I got for it (about $200), it just made sense to step into the new 516. I loved my PRC200 and wasnt sure about the size of the 516 but got used to it quickly and love the modern look it has.

My old 200:

Just picked this up for $80. I'm very impressed with the built quality! Nice packaging and a 5 year extended warranty. I would of slipped on my nato straps, but this is a 20mm spring bar pin and my straps are for 22mm pins.

It comes with a screw down crown! I might take off the cyclops. Heard the bezel was hard to turn, but leaving the watch in a bowl of warm water helped it a lot.
