Who lives in a McMansion under the sea (richmond is below sea level). Spongetits no Pants.

Thanks to 69style for finding this. I cant believe I got it, 300 pieces world wide and I got one of them! Patrick star is my favourite spongetits character with followed by Mr Krabs and Plankton.

Oh.. yes the watch. Its fantastic! super heavy, heavier than my white gold daytona if you can believe it. Wears quite thick like a dive watch should and that sapphire dome makes Patrick look underwater due to how it warps the light. A very very cool effect.

Rubber strap is excellent and ultra thick. Love the details on the front and back, especially all the font is done in the same spongetits font. Even the bezel action is precise and has absolutely zero play. Of course this seiko movement is also indestructible so I'm sure ill get many years of HHUHUHHUHARHAHAHRHHU from it.

I never got the Sponge Bob thing, but there sure are a lot of adults who are into it!

Spinnaker makes some cool themed watches! Seem to be decent quality too. Hong Kong brand!

Quality is fantastic (Just like my MTR watch).

Im on a China watch bender recently

Even Spy Balloon said it was quite cute and well-built, the heft surprised her. She thought it was a plasticky piece of junk initially.

If you want to be a legit Chinawatch collector, you need to get a STEELDIVE or a HEIMDALLR

Seriously though, I am wearing my Steeldive rn and it's quite good quality minus the bracelet... Super impressive for $50 compared to what you'd get from Timex

My "moonswatch" parts finally arrived yesterday.

Was trying to find a spare Moonswatch strap for my genuine so I turned to Aliexpress/DHgate. No straps were available except for the whole watch for $21 shipped. Not knowing what to do with a replica moonswatch, I went the down the rabbit hole of Moonswatch mods and decided to order a steel replica speedmaster case ($35) and some other random parts to make it work ($15). Here are the results

Wow so did you have to move the stem over from the quartz watch to the mechanical watch's crown? Or is this kitted specifically for MoonSwatches?

Had to pick up new stems, which came in a pack of 5. The movement on the rep is a Sunon PE50 and you'll also need a 33mm movement holder to fit the vk63 case

It can be done with a gen but I couldn't stomach cutting apart a genuine as the movement is litterally fused with the bioceramic case on the gen lol. Some guys are taking Dremel's to break the dial and movement free, which 90% of the time destroys the movement. The ETA on the gen is cheap but really hard to get

LOVE that colour when I saw it announced... these ones always flummox me though, like as far as the watch sitting there to look at, takes your breath away... but I can't see it in my mind on my wrist in that many situations??? It's kind of too casual looking to be a dress watch or business watch and it's too expensive to wear around as a fun watch.

Unsure... maybe my imagination is just too small... but man is it pretty.

but thats the whole point of the aquaterra, you get a killer in house movement, relatively affordable pricing for a luxury watch, the aesthetics that can do anything. This is basically the datejust of Omega. Dress up or down, it seems to work fine.

I love my orange aquaterra, I wear it with nato / OEM leather or Steel and it looks great for all occasions. Its the most versatile watch.

I think your aqua looks great with anything because it’s black… just not sure if the turquoise works well despite being so beautiful.

That said, I bought a really weird grail watch myself so what do I know lol

As mentioned before I was saving up ‘coffee money’ (I don’t drink coffee) for almost 2 years until I finally had enough to buy a grail watch of mine… it’s a pretty under the radar release from Oris a few years back and it violates a few things in my mind for watches, usually I don’t like multi colour cases and too “out there” colours and prefer things to be neutral for maximum wardrobe matching but throw that all out the window because I just absolutely loved how all the elements of this watch come together and it’s stayed bookmarked on my browser for 2 years without me getting tired of it so I finally went through with it.

The watch in question is an Oris x Momotaro jeans company collaboration. Really love the minty fume dial and the brass/stainless chassis combined with the momotaro strap. Really wears light and easy and I’m excited how things will age and patina on it over the years.

1 grail down… probably need 5 years of coffee money for an Omega next lol

Spoiler!

A few months ago, I wanted to try to build my own Seiko Shogun SPB189. Its a 2K watch and isn't worth anywhere near that price tag imo. I was trying to build it with as many genuine parts from the original and had all of the parts ordered to make it work but due to the Canada Post strike, some went missing. Mainly the parts to use the genuine dial on an NH35

In order to salvage the project, I bought an aftermarket dial and here are the results...

a few more pics here, https://imgur.com/a/abz2ZJW

I'm not a fan of the cyclops that came with the aftermarket case but the thing is stuck on there good. I'm not sure about spending anymore on the project for a new crystal w/out a cyclops

Parts List

* Aftermarket Titanium Case & Bracelet w/Sapphire Crystal.
* Dauphine hands & shovel style second hand in gold tone (same style as the SPB)
* TMI NH35 automatic mvt. TMI is a Seiko Subsidiary and the NH35 is basically the same thing as the 4R35 in most $500+ Seiko watches

Total cost in parts was around $250... for a 43mm Titanium cased Seiko powered Divers. It's my poor man's Pelagos I guess lol. Results aren't too bad in person but could be a lot better
