I came close to buying that last one with the moon/earth complication as my one "moon swatch" it feels like you have to have in your collection, but picking it up in store to put on my wrist it's completely missing that weight I like to feel that reminds me I'm wearing something. I know not everyone wants to feel that and for some people the lighter the better... but just couldn't get past that, I wanted it to have a presence.

My latest quick and cheap daily beater King Samurai build for just under $100.

I see Seiko "modding" like AC Cobra kit cars—you get a similar experience for a fraction of the price, often using identical or comparable parts.

The Build:

* King Samurai case
* Samurai hour & minute hands
* Shovel second hand
* Samurai style Paris hobnail-patterned dial
* Sapphire crystal
* Ceramic bezel
* NH35 movement running +4 seconds/day

Pressure-tested to aprox ~20m with my DIY setup. This thing’s an absolute tank.

[EDIT] - Got a database error when posting . No clue why it ended up here.

The waving arm complication is actually pretty damn hilarious:

Apparently Rolex's new integrated bracelet watch, the Land Dweller, is real.

Reviews on the Land Dweller are coming out. I don't care about that. To each their own

What I do care about is the pretty interesting 7135 movement they're using, with its "Dynapulse" natural escapement. Check that out here

Rolex has an animation of it in action on their site

New TAG Heuer Formula 1 models will be released throughout the season. Here's the first

I post that news because I have the original chronograph 1991 model on my bench now, donated to me by a member here (thanks!)

Much smaller! LOL

I'll be posting about it in my thread when I start working on it. It needs a full service at minimum, and at least one new coil. Need to get some new tools including a decent multimeter.

Love this Patek pilot watch too. Set two time zones and switch between them with the pushers

It's the same movement in the 1908 I think? Also hence the staggering price tag too... $20k is mental for a dress watch.

LOVE the look of this one, could be a daily watch on many colours of straps... too bad it's a Patek and white gold... probably a 6 digit price tag? lol

1908 uses the 7140 movement that the 7135 is based on, which has a standard escapement and beat rate.

I imagine they'll update the 1908 to use that one eventually, perhaps while making the watch thinner

Thankfully this type of design is extremely common, from 6 digits to 2 digits lol. Patek nailed it here though

New Black Bay Pro with white dial is cool for people like me who love the Explorer 2 but will probably never spend $10K on a watch

Even cooler is the 43mm Pelagos Ultra in Titanium. The markers are more balanced and legible for me, compared to the other Pelagos models. I also much prefer the square markers over the round ones on the BB, and the touch of green is nice

Yah Tudor really knocked it out of the park with their new releases in Geneva, never much cared for their stuff and dismissed them as a brand but the subtle changes on these models are pretty enticing as a “don’t want to be another Rolex or Omega guy” purchase.

No offense to anyone wearing those 2 brands I love both of their stuff, just nice to see something at a 50% price point that looks the part without getting a “Oh it’s just a…” response after a closer look.

I was disappointed by Tudor for the most part outside of the BB pro.

Who was looking for an even LARGER BB?

And no updates to the Chrono which everybody was hoping for a smaller, thinner one.
