Not all mainlanders are "locusts" and not all HKers are greedy pigs looking to take advantage of the locusts. It all comes down to shit poor mismanagement by the government, and the fact that these two groups - the locusts and the greedy pigs - are the only ones who can choose who runs HK. The fact that these greedy fucks are the ones with all the power is what is ruining Hong Kong. Complaining about the cigarette smoke and the suitcases is only on a meta level. IE what affects my life personally. The big picture is, the way this place is lead needs to be changed. Universal suffrage needs to happen. But it won't. This is why I said HK is going to hell, this can be clearly observed over my 10 years living here. And the place as we know it will be gone forever eventually. The normal every day people, who are negatively affected by this and see no benefit from it, outnumber the greedy people who have all the control. Look at how many people show up to protests. You won't see any rich land developers there, just the vast majority of people who are normal middle class people. They have NO power at all, even though their basic law states that they should. That is the problem, not the guy with the crew cut smoking an acrid cigarette while his wife holds their son over a garbage can to piss in it. |
where can i get a decent cut of steak in Hong Kong to cook myself? Been looking at stuff from Park and Shop and it just doesn't do it... even that frozen Canadian Angus shit just doesn't taste the same |

how many of you guys go to Macau whenever you are in hk ? how long do you stay for? its a nice city at night, especially the Cotai strip of casinos |
Every time LOL usually more than once each time. I love the place, there's so much to do in Macau and the food is VERY good. I usually stay 2-3 days/nights. It depends what you're into as well. |

I'll be in Hong Kong for about a week mid April before I go to Phuket, what are some things worth checking out? Victoria Peak, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade etc? I'll be meeting a friend down there who knows her way quite well but she wanted me to give her some ideas where I want to go |
^^ April will be very humid. |
mid-April is fine. In fact we have a monsoon right now and I'm wearing a jacket :o It's under 17c right now at noon Expect mid-20's and hotter than you're used to, but nothing crazy |
I'll be leaving for Hong Kong in a few days, my friend said I shouldn't pack too much because I'll probably find a lot of clothes to buy there? Are there really a lot of nice clothes to buy in Hong kong? Mostly into hip hop kind of brands |
^depends if you're asian sized :lawl: |
I found prices were the same as here |

I have a stop over in HK for about 10 hours. I read there's a train that goes from HKG right into the city centre so have a few questions; 1. How long does it take from the airport to go into the main centre? 2. Is the train pretty easy to understand? 3. Is the shopping area close by the train station? 4. Is there a peak time I should be aware of? |
1. Airport Express - 30-35 mins from Airport to Central (HK Financial District) 2. Airport Express station is right inside the airport departure terminal. There are only 5 stations in Express Line. 3. Your can stop by 2 High End Malls #1 called IFC. it is right on top of Hong Kong Island Airport Express Station or #2 mall called ICC on top of Kowloon Airport Express station. IFC mall fit you right in. English speaker everywhere. ICC mall is for Mainlander :troll: Their child poop and peep on the floor or garbage can Spoiler! |

2. If you know English, yes. 3. Get off the Airport Express at Hong Kong station at you'll be at Central. Read answer to Q1 for things regarding Central. You can also transfer to the Island Line train via Central station (10-15 minute walk from HK station), go 3 stops Eastbound to Causeway Bay. Another popular shopping hub. Or you can stop at Kowloon station which will be the Elements mall. Again, all high-end retailers. 4. 3-8pm would be the rush hour. And will be a shitshow on the trains. If you see primitive savages rolling suitcases around doing their shopping, yelling in foreign languages, and squatting on the ground, those aren't locals, they're mainlanders. |
Anyone Go on the Disney Tron ride? |
Gonna be in HK mid April to May for few weeks. Anyone here in HK around that time that wants to meet up and chill haha? I've been google researching on places to eat at, hard to even determine what is good since the reviews are all quite the same... |

Little Bao. Shit's unreal. I have been twice in two separate trips to HK recently, and loved it both times. It's in SoHo about 2 blocks from the Escalators. Casual and affordable. You will not regret it. |
How much $HKD do you guys bring as cash to spend? Did you guys exchange the money locally or at HK? |

Wife and I went last year and I made some pretty big purchases. Spent over $10K hkd in the week we were there. There are many shops that exchange $$$ and the rates aren't too bad. If you plan on going to the malls or outlets, they do take credit card as well. |

I was thinking of bringing $15K HKD. |
