Oh this reminds me...
You know how the back is sloped downards.
I saw this girl driving a black Tiburon with a wing attached on the back, but it gave the car upforce...
You guys might know her if you went to Arts Institute in burnaby.

I like Hyundais, the new Tiburons are hot, that one you posted in particular. They just have such nice, simple, almost conservative lines; it's refreshing when contrasted to the hideous crap that Nissan and Toyota are making.
The rumor mill keeps saying that the next gen is going to be a proper lightweight RWD coupe; also refreshing besides, the Japanese don't even know how to make a RWD car under 4000lbs. anymore.

I like the latest style tiburons, and that one must be a beast. Props to the owner for building probably the fastest tib out there.

I drove the V6 when it first came out, and it was like dancing with a fat chick in a tight dress. Sure the power was there, but there was nothing useful you could do with it.

I drove the V6 when it first came out, and it was like dancing with a fat chick in a tight dress. Sure the power was there, but there was nothing useful you could do with it. | You know what, that's an interesting take. Having owned and been around GK-chassis Tiburons (including 4 cylinder, V6 and several friend's supercharged V6 models), I have the following take; communicative chassis, solid and adaptable suspension, fantastic 6-speed gearbox, acceptable though simple interior, great seats..... ALL of which is combined with boring engines that, at least when naturally aspirated, offer ZERO thrills to the driver.... the car is also pignosed and heavy body. The car, no matter what the trim, weighs in at 3000lbs. That's big for a coupe.
I have a couple of friend's in Seattle who added Alpine's bolt-on Supercharger to their V6 Tiburons. The Supercharger changes EVERYTHING. Suddenly that big, inefficient V6 makes sense. First and second gear become useless with immense wheel-spin and the supercharger whine drowns out the surrounding environment entirely. In recent years I have only really been surprised/scared by sudden acceleration a couple of times. Once was in Buster's WRX last year and the other time was when I first rode in my friend Jacob's Supercharged Tiburon... he shifted into second, hit the throttle and the front wheels hooked up (running Michelin Pilot Sports) instantly and the car screamed forward with immense stride wow. My other friend with a Supercharged Tiburon in Seattle is producing 284 wheel horsepower and 268lb. ft. of torque. He'll readily admit that that sort of power overpowers the front wheels on anything but perfect pavement, but what a supercharged V6 does is bring the entire GK chassis to life~~~ it's a good car, blessed with bad factory engine options... just shame it wasn't RWD.

ok, it is still a Hyundai...
and Hyundai or not, 400hp from 2.0L 4cyl isn't THAT impressive.
people with the Silvia S13 have accomplished that much power with SR20DET how many years ago?
Most S15 Silvia people can accomplish that much power quite easily too anyways...or even Lancer EVO, Celica GT-Four, etc.
I mean...I don't think getting 400hp out of 2.0L 4cyl turbo is THAT big of accomplishment.

Oh
my
gawd
Timpo, shut up and stop taking things out of context. Never once did I say that this was the first 400hp Tiburon, I simply stated that is happened to be a nice example of a 400hp Tiburon (of which there are many!). It's also noteworthy that this is a private, daily-driven example, not some vendor-owned trailer-queen.
Given that Hyundai's Beta-II's ancestry is tied intimately to that of Mitsubishi's 4G63 it shouldn't be surprising that this power is accessible via turbocharging.
I can accomplish that kind of power out of my own car with very little effort... but that shouldn't and DOESN'T make this GK any less of an accomplishment.
