picked up a Nike victory red split cavity iron set for $275 yesterday at Golftown's demo sale. killer deal! :D

N.V.M. 11-07-2010 03:10 PM

nice. why didn't you tell me about it? :D

JKam 11-07-2010 03:35 PM

my buddies called me at 4 in the morning to tell me about the sale haha. we at 6am and left for RIchmond golftown.

They might still have some stuff. VR sand and gap wedges were $50. Hybrids were about $75, drivers were $110 and up.

No good putters though..

Hondaracer 11-07-2010 03:59 PM

Damn good deal, I got my sumo irons last year graphite shafts for 255 plus the matching sand wedge for $20 when the set was still on the shelves for 650

Well, clubs are officially hung up for the season. Didn't get one more round in.

Oh well. January meeting in St. Petes FL... I'll be sure to get in a couple rounds out there and thats not too far away.

JKam 12-09-2010 09:40 PM

nowhere near as good of deals as the demo clearance but Golftown now has daily deals for the holidays

Santa brought me new wheels, Clicgear 3.0.

http://members.shaw.ca/northvanmike/...ay/newride.jpg

sooooo, played 18 @Riverway yesterday and took my new cart, pretty good shape considering the work they're doing there and also considering it's the end of december. this cart is solid! Sun Mountain and Bagboy make nothing as strong as this machine.

and lastly, look who bought me passes to the Canadian Open!

Nice Cart, hey NVM....what do you think of the sun mountain micro cart?

punkwax 01-10-2011 02:46 PM

That is a nice cart.

I hope to attend the Canadian Open as well. My bro works for RBC so I've been bugging him lol

In Florida next week. I'll be playing here Thursday and Sunday :fullofwin:

Id say if you need a smaller cart due to a small trunk or whatever then go for it, plus it is about 4-5lbs lighter then the V1, 3.0, quattro...

However, the base of the bag cant be too big as it will rub on the fron wheels, plus the braking system seems to go on too many of them.

I love the V1 but the clic gear seems to be the best in term of warrenty issues.

So, been back for a while, but sure shit the bed in FL. Shot 101 for the first round of 2011. 54 then 47 so progress counts for something right? lol

Played better during a best ball tournament a few days later... guess rust will happen.

Today's groupon is $150 private lesson at Northview for $55.

Played Meridian last Saturday - they now have a par 4! lol Not much of one, pretty much L shaped dog leg. First shot is 80-90 yds, then another 70-80 in from there.

Love that little course. Par is now 55, shot 70.

Hondaracer 02-26-2011 11:57 AM

I love meridian, must have played that course like 50 times, a buddy of mine actually got a hole in one on hole 7 i think it is? the one where the tee box is on the back of the barn or w.e?

No, it's a fenced in tee box. I could flop over it, but wouldn't get anywhere near the green.

Here's a sweeeeet groupon for everyone - take advantage! http://www.groupon.com/vancouver

That used to be 8. Now its 17, the back 9 is now the front.

I got my hole in one on the next hole :)

N.V.M. 03-05-2011 05:21 AM

off to the Canal this morning. Kings Links tomorrow. :)

punkwax 03-05-2011 09:59 AM

I'm off to Cabo tomorrow. Definitely going to get a round in. :woot2:

punkwax 03-19-2011 07:51 PM

Played Palmilla in Cabo. Beautiful course and scenery.. of course I forgot my camera at the resort. They have 27 holes and you choose 2 9's to play. I played Ocean and Arroyo. $177 at twilight lol. Good thing rentals were reasonable at $35.. I ended up spending more than that on cerveza. http://www.palmillagc.com/index.php

I'm not good enough to judge stimp readings but the group ahead of us were from Vegas saying they play 11-12 regularly and that the green there were rolling 13 for sure.

All I know is my first putt (downhill but from fringe) rolled 25' passed the hole. Second, uphill putt rolled 12' past. Hardly touched my 3rd putt and it still went 6" past. Insane green speed. Took a few holes to get used to... went 7, 9, 7 on the first 3 holes. :(

59 front (worst in 5-6 yrs and I've been playing 7 lol)
47 back
