played Riverway saturday, greens are recovering ok from recent punching, but still pretty bumpy.

then, played Golden Eagle North sunday. soggy! many of the greens, bordering on awful. meh, $38.

punkwax 10-25-2011 04:30 PM

Played Mayfair on Sunday - fairways were soggy as hell. Whoever told me they had great drainage was full of shit lol

Greens were nice though.

Didn't play well at all. 98 with several fairway 50yd chunks and 4 water balls to boot.

Probably last round of the year, oh well. Orlando in January should be fun :D

N.V.M. 10-30-2011 08:32 AM

played in the first 4 @ FraserView on saturday. 3 hrs,35 minutes :fullofwin:

Bought a new driver a few weeks ago, Golftown was blowing out the TM Burner Superfasts' for $148. Bought the 5 wood new the end of the season and loved it. Tried the driver out and decided to give it a shot at the range before they closed, major upgrade from my R5, so much lighter. Just gotta get it and my 5 wood fitted over the winter for next season!

Hondaracer 11-24-2011 01:13 PM

at the golftown demo days i picked up the callaway octane diablo driver for $125 brand new, stiff 11 deg, they are going for $199 now basically everywhere else so cant wait to try it

Pooface55 11-28-2011 10:27 AM

Picked up a Nike VR Tour Driver. Really liking it so far. Sound and feels good. Came with a project x shaft that feels very stable too.

I don't know why more drivers don't have a neutral/open face.

my new toy of the year! (about 2 fiddy -ish). will check it out tomorrow if it doesn't pour.

411ken 02-13-2012 01:38 PM

^ someone told me about that too.. how'd it work out for you? lol..

Also, i'm in need of new golf shoes (planning on playing more this year... course and range) any of you try out the nike air range? want to try something different.

http://www.golfsupport.co.uk/Upload/...84c6b74e2a.jpg

and any of you got hookups? lol.. golftown sells em for 109

N.V.M. 02-28-2012 06:12 PM

ok, i wore my watch GPS from Garmin twice now, two thumbs up. ok, be aware, you only get front, middle , and back of green distances, which is much less than i'm used to with my Skycaddie.

however, simplifying the information seems to help with making me just playing golf. it detected everything automatically(the course, and then each hole) and is extremely handy being on, your hand!

btw, those shoes in the previous post...no! this is Vancouver man, those shoes are designed for Americans, way down south, on dry, pretty golf courses!

played Fraserview again today. soggy! i'm really getting zeroed in on my Nike ProCombo irons.

want this wet weather to stop!

Saturn2nr 03-11-2012 09:42 AM

Tested a set of Nike Pro-Combo's with the 8-PW blades. Awesome irons. Not sure, but I'm going to have to test the VR Pro Blades again with them to decide what I'm going to get, definitely narrowed it down to the Nike's though. Time to retire my Wilson Staff FG blades.

Played Delta last wknd, nice to swing the clubs for the first time in about 5 months. $15 after 3PM

Cant wait for the weather to start turning around. Next weekend is supposed to be nice with a high of 11. Maybe I'll only need to club up once lol

Played my first round of the year at Greenacres today. Course was pretty wet, some parts were just one big swamp, but felt great to get out there. My game stinks but looking forward to some lessons soon.

Picked up some new shoes for this year: Puma Cell Fusion 2 Special Editions. Got my money's worth today, that's for sure.

Puma's look nice

Posting a short rant on the most horrid golf course we played today. Course was Tall Timbers out in Langley. Would NOT recommend anyone to golf at this course.

Words cannot describe the horrid and miserable conditions the course was in..

For example, balls getting plugged in the green, tee boxes with no grass, greens with ditches in the center, beer cans littered in every corner of the course, abandoned golf carts in the woods etc...

bluejays 04-07-2012 10:22 PM

^ LOL you thought tall timbers would be good? Everyone knows tall timbers is the shittiest course around, what did you expect for a round of golf for $25?

Wormiez 04-08-2012 08:56 AM

^ My buddy organized the day and sold us on it being a nice and cheap course... Should have known that nice and cheap doesn't sound right in the same phrase.. Now he's lost all say in choosing courses.

mazdaboi 04-09-2012 01:05 PM

Just played fraserview yesterday and it was nice and dry. Hope this weather is here to stay!!!

N.V.M. 04-09-2012 03:35 PM

Tall Timbers..hahha! you didn't know that? fucking garbage. if you want cheap but playable, Surrey or Guilford.

Tall Timbers is what $25? so what, it's not playable.

cdizzle_996 04-09-2012 06:46 PM

Finished the year off with a 76 at Belmont in September. Started the year with a 99 at Redwoods...FML

I think I topped EVERY iron shot I had today. I couln't keep my head down if my life depended on it.

411ken 04-17-2012 08:32 AM

any of you guys use a range finder? if, so what do you guys use (good battery life/features/accuracy, etc) ?

I tried using one on the course for the first time after borrowing it and they actually help lol.. i mean, it's still about executing the shot but having an idea of the distance is pretty good lol.. makes me want to invest in one hehe..

I still suck by the way... :D

Wormiez 04-17-2012 09:02 AM

For fast and easy distances, I use the golf apps found in both the BB and Android phones.

BB - BBgolfgps
Android - SkyDroid

Both apps provide with you the same data for distances. Front, middle and the back of the green, also includes water hazard and bunkers..

Never need to doubt your distance and wander aimlessly looking for range markers.. Just trust the distance and swing. :)

Pooface55 04-17-2012 09:41 AM

Got a bushnell v2. I was hesistant on buying a rangefinder but now I regret not buying it sooner. Only bad thing about it is its hard to hit the pin.

sekin67835 04-17-2012 09:54 AM

What website is good at giving reviews for golf clubs? I need a new driver.

411ken 04-17-2012 10:23 AM

Thanks Wormiez
