Im a Taylomade whore..

R7 iron set
R7 #3 19° Hybird
R9 #3 Wood
R9 10.5° 460 Driver
ZTP 58° Chrome Wedge
Nubbins Putter

Taylomade bag and towel! :okay:

my old irons were the Taylomade 360

punkwax 09-03-2013 12:12 PM

^ You love Taylormade so much you can't spell it correctly? :p

I played like CRAP yesterday, only got 9 in because we were behind the slowest golfers I've ever seen so we gave up and drank beer on the patio instead... this one guy would wait for the green to clear from 250yds+ on a par 5 thinking he could get there in two.. take 14 practice swings then shank it 75 yds.

First 10 of the year on the last hole. Not one GIR, kept hitting short left, low draws with my long irons and my scrambling was just not there.. only got up and down once for par. 51 through 9 holes :rukidding: Shot 39 on the same 9 holes about a month or so ago... gotta love golf!

fliptuner 09-03-2013 12:26 PM

Is it bad form to ask if you can play through?

punkwax 09-03-2013 12:31 PM

Never really had the opportunity, but would have asked for sure. It was bad form on their part to not realize how slow they were playing. When we saw them head straight to the 10th tee, we said forget it.

Jmac 09-03-2013 12:46 PM

Proper etiquette is to allow faster parties to play through.

fliptuner 09-03-2013 01:00 PM

That's what I've always experienced. Never had to ask, they just offer.

Jmac 09-04-2013 07:33 PM

Didn't end up playing my home course today as we couldn't get a tee time there (boo). I played ... not well ... still managed to fight my way to a 91, but I was not striking the ball well. Slept weird last night, was tight and sore in my shoulders, upper back, and neck.

I saw the most ridiculously lucky shot I've ever seen, however. We had just finished the 18th hole and we were adding up our scores (par on the last hole :fuckyea: ). One of the players in the group behind us hits his ball thin, it skips off the pond in front of the green, bounces off a tree, and ends up 5 feet from the pin ... He sank the putt for a birdie ...

:accepted:

Golf can be a game of good misses!

Whenever I'm golfing with someone and they hit a poor shot that doesn't go far but is right in the middle I call it a condom shot - felt like shit but at least its safe! I've hit many condom shots myself over the years :lol

jdmhaze 09-05-2013 07:45 PM

Some people have 0 golf etiquette. Too stubborn to let a group go ahead. In which case you call the pro shop and get them to send a marshall out to either tell the group to hurry the fuck up or make them wait.

Worst experience i ever had was when me and my buddy got stuck behind a foursome who had a couple guys that shot in the 130's...while we finished in the mid-low 80's..

punkwax 09-05-2013 07:49 PM

Never thought to call the pro shop and request a marshal before... thanks tips!

Playing Northlands Tuesday.. tough track from what I remember. Better not play like I did last week!

N.V.M. 09-08-2013 04:09 AM

i've played it 3-4 dozen times, its only 5 minutes from my house. i only play there though when i'm hitting it well. if you don't know all the blind shots too, it just gets tougher.

cdizzle_996 09-08-2013 07:57 AM

Im playing Surrey today, never been there. Hoping to keep my streak of 4 rounds in the 70's in the past 4 weeks going.

fishCak3s 09-09-2013 11:23 AM

Big back up at McCleery yesterday. Teed off at 10:45am, line up at the 3rd hole (3 groups of 4 waiting) but everyone was smiling, talking to each other. Finished the round at 3:40pm, great day

punkwax 09-10-2013 07:52 PM

92 @ Northlands today.. it is a tough track. If you arent in the fairway, you get punished. Well I did anyway. Tough lies and thick rough.

Triple bogey 7 first hole then 3 pars in a row. Triple 5, bogey 6, triple 7, then went bogey, par for a 46 front (par 35)

Shot 46 on the back (par 36) with 1 triple, but only 2 pars and a bunch of boges and doubles. Had 3 good birdie attempts around 10' and just couldn't sink them.. not my day!

Tough pin placements as well, few 3 putts and someone I was golfing with 4 putt the 1st hole (and he wasn't bad, had a couple birdies). Nevertheless, course is beautiful and I'll be back!

For anyone that is left handed and is looking for clubs that are preowned, GlobalGolf.com has a pretty sweet deal on right now. I got myself a set of Rocketbladez, 4-PW,AW.

Taylor Made RocketBladez Iron Set 4-PW, SW Used Golf Club at GlobalGolf.com

Total is $519USD but with the following coupon codes,

FREESHIP199 Free Shipping on Orders over $199
LEFT25 25% Off Used Left Handed Clubs

it came out to $392USD. I went with the excellent condition clubs and in all honesty they look like they've been used maybe 3-4 rounds. Can't wait to try them out this weekend!

punkwax 09-12-2013 06:45 PM

You lefties get all the deals.. I play hockey left, started golfing left and from messing around with my brother's right handed clubs in the front yard they started feeling more comfortable.. Maybe I should switch back

cdizzle_996 09-12-2013 07:31 PM

For anyone looking for an extremely nice course, hit up Homestead in Lynden just across the Aldergrove and Sumas border crossing. Played it today for the first time, and was astonished how beautiful it was. Lush fairways, perfect greens and it was $30.

I would seriously pay $65 to play it... if that was their price

played Rupert today. Its nice that its free but this is how the green's look like it. Felt like I was playing in a sandbox and yes, that is a twig as a flagstick :lol

Not gonna complain but don't use your good clubs if you're anal as I nicked up good putter pretty good while putting in the sand.
