Shot like poo this morning. Obviously its my clubs, so looking for a new set. Titleist or Ping, we'll see.

Tried Homestead in Lynden last weekend, nice course but some of the greens were a little bumpy.

$25 teed off at 2:30pm, used Nexus to skip the line and got cheap $5 nuggets at McD before heading over. First time playing at a course with an island green, felt like a pro when I was walking onto the island green and birdied the hole :woot2:

Finished off the day with Wonderful Bueffet. Great day!

I have a tee time at Golden Eagles North on sunday morning with some buds, soooo on my day off today I went and snuck in a "practice" round, lol.

N.V.M. 08-31-2014 04:09 PM

Sweet round at Golden Eagles this morning. First group out too! And, missed all the rain. It was nice playing a course with lots of water and trees and still using the driver successfully. Playing at Riverway a lot spoils you, but I had no trouble smashing the big stick with narrower fairways and instant death all over the place.

Hmm, hey, mondays a holiday! Do I dare play a third round this weekend?

Did you end up playing your 3rd round?

Was up in Kelowna over the weekend and made the trip out to Tobiano. What an amazing golf course. They dropped the price to $65 which is a steal.

no, but spent the afternoon chipping and pitching.

$65 for Tobiano is a steal. Tough track!

Just killing it with the driver at Riverway this morning. And using those wedges to toss darts onto the green from 100-120 out , not even chipping or pitching with them too much yet. btw, one of those wedges is a 46°(Titleist SM 5 Vokey), replaced my pitching wedge with it. Also have the 52 and 56.

Lets see what happens when I use those freebies at Golden Eagles North, in the morning.

Played Hazelmere yesterday. 2 triples in a row on 8 & 9 killed my round. Also lost my Taylormade 56* on 9, someone kept it and didn't turn it in. I use it a lot so it was tough to adjust with my 60 & 53 the rest of the way in.

Oh and the marshall noticed my cooler in the cart and sniped my beers. Had to buy $8 tallies all day.

$92 round. $8 beers and I'm probably going to drop $100 or so to replace my wedge. Expensive day!

Free round at Morgan Creek Wednesday morning should make me feel a little better.

Played Burnaby mountain two weeks ago and today as well.

The first time was after a month hiatus and man it took a toll lol. So many three puts, shot a 108 :/. Today shaved ten stroked for a 98. Better but need to get back into getting out once a week.

Bought a new cart bag with integrated cooler so no more marshall's sniping my beer :accepted:

Saved $100 on the bag so bought myself a vokey 56. Played Morgan and have to say I'm liking it. Ball checks nicely on the green even if I'm only pitching a few yards onto it.

Played Sandpiper yesterday. Beautiful track.

Opens at 8am so be there early like it's an Aaritzia sample sale!

N.V.M. 10-28-2014 04:47 AM

i always leave disappointed from these demo sales.

punkwax 10-28-2014 06:36 AM

I've bought my last 2 sets of Callaways from the GT demo sales. Going to try and get there early again this year and see what's available.

N.V.M. 11-01-2014 05:43 AM

ok, off to the golf course. much better than Golf Town sale!

btw, Golf Town doesn't even have demo clubs, i call bullshit.

punkwax 11-01-2014 08:40 AM

Why would they call it a demo sale if there were no demos to sell? :failed:

They bring them in from golf courses.. my sets were from Northview and Whistler GC IIRC.

Slept in.. I'm sure the minty sets are gone but still might be some decent ones left. On the fence about going..

N.V.M. 11-03-2014 05:03 AM

i went yesterday for left overs. the "demos" were well used sets and beat up drivers. either rentals or trade ins?

anyways, i tested a few drivers and the Nike Covert 2.0 was ok, but when i tried the Ping G25, wow, smoked that thing. it too was beat up pretty bad, but great club.

http://members.shaw.ca/northvanmike/125ads/monitor.JPG

this definitely makes me want to grab a G30.

fishCak3s 11-03-2014 08:40 AM

I picked up a set of mp 54s still in wrappers for $650 and friend working there hooked me up with some additional discount.

Also got the Bio Cell+ driver, minimal wear on the face. Pretty solid IMO
