^^^ That's such a wicked deal, I'm going to try and do it by the end of the month if I get back in time from work
Played Point Roberts this past week. So disappointing considering it used to be an amazing track, clearly they just have zero money anymore and it shows, only one employee working, looks like they hadn't cut anything that week, greens were spotty and not that great, starting to feel like a tall timbers shit hole. If it was a part of Canada it would be an awesome course still I bet. With the golf now app it's still not that bad if you can find a deal on there but definitely wouldn't pay more than 25 bucks to go there... Even if I am saving on a tank of gas while down there
Thanks for the review for Point Roberts, we were thinking of going there, but if it's not worth it, we'd rather go somewhere else.
My friend went to Nicklaus North last week and he said it was unreal. The views he said were the best part.
Played at Furry Creek this past Thursday. A friend booked it last minute Wednesday night so we got a last minute discount. $41! I thought it was worth while for the price, even though it's a decent drive. Shot a 93. I don't think I would go there for regular price though, not a single bunker was nicely raked, edges around the bunkers and grass around the bunkers were Meh. At least in my opinion for a course that is usually $60+.
Just played my first ever golf game today at Morgan Creek! Scored 109 which I thought was pretty solid, but great to see because now its time to work on freaking everything.
On the way back I went to Point Roberts to gas up and decided to play at the course. I dont think it was that badly managed at all? Grass was pretty solid, the fringe and greens were better cut than Morgan Creek, and I love they roll/press the greens. Just wish more people raked the bunkers, but most seemed to fill in their divots.
^mmm, I'll have to take your post with a grain of salt considering it was your first ever golf game. I hardly believe that a place where people don't rake bunkers would be better manicured than Morgan Creek.
Congrats on the 109 - much better than my first round on a par 72. Nonetheless on a difficult track such as MC.

83 at Northlands and a 79 at Belmont.. you guys are better than me! My best ever is an 82 at Surrey and Northlands is a much harder track IMO.
Shot 86 on the Ridge at Northview last Saturday. 41 front with a triple bogey. 45 back with four (yes four) double bogeys
My driver has been letting my down so far this season as well. Although, I did play 9 at Nico Wynd last week, made some good adjustments with the big stick, was hitting straighter and longer and ended up 5 over. One drive was ~275 yards which is an absolute bomb for me
3 work related rounds already booked for June including Morgan Creek. Hope to sneak in several more personal ones in the next 30 days as well.

Played a round at Goose Hummock in Edmonton this week, even par round for me, can't complain since I'd never played there before! Pretty solid course, tons of water which made it target which was fun. Heading back to van this weekend, hopefully get on somewhere if the weather's nice this next week.

You have never played a full course and you shot a 109 at Morgan Creek?
That's really impressive.

Thanks! Thats 3 and a half months of work at the driving range and QE pitch and putt.
Having uncles that played golf for decades helps. Started me off really early on importance of grip, stance, and upswing to give a really good foundation for consistency. Putting was very weak for the round, and I figure if I never hit my driver and just always laid up with irons I could also shave a couple strokes.
Played Golden Eagle (north) this morning, shot 95. Would've been much better had I not gone oob three times and finished 6 over on hole 2 lol. First time playing there, really nice course.
Does anyone know any good online sites to buy golf gear?

Anyone know anything about leagues or clubs etc? I checked out Vancouver Golf Tour but they require a minimum handicap of 18, and I saw a league called "Par 2 Birdie mixed golf league" but the site looks... old, just dont feel a connection to it. (I am 23 btw)
After the tournament I want to strive for something more. Just hitting balls at the range is getting boring and feels ineffective at this point except for driver practice, and making proper striking. None of my friends play golf, and the ones who want to learn, learn way too damn slow.
Help a brotha out! Maybe anyone of you guys want to play or practice with me on a regular basis? League info? Golf instructor suggestions (im in richmond, work in granville island). I have a loose goal of hitting scratch in 3 years (big goal i know haha) and at this rate I dont think Ill get there.
as expected, Kings Links was in awesome condition. be aware that there's a new clubhouse being built, so food/drink is being served from a street food truck.

Dam tell me the secret to that haha, maybe I just suck
I've been playing for 4 years now (albiet inconsistently) and have taken lessons and can barely keep my scores under 110, let alone the score on my first time (like 125+ or something stupid like that). I go to the DR quite frequently too.
