heading out east this week, going to hit either wildstone or shadow mountain in cranbrook (maybe both), on the way back might stop at fairview mountain in oliver if its early enough to get a full round in. Anyone here play any of these courses? I really want to hit grey wolf up north of cranbrook, but one of the guys doesn't want to add a leg to the journey....:lawl:

played Fairview. top golf course.

mk1freak 07-03-2016 09:26 AM

golftec's swing analysis is pretty much a one-off ...but the instructor said if you sign up for one of the packages on the same day it's credited towards the price. (packages include analysis and club fitting etc.)

First round with Arccos today. Completely unobtrusive, did everything automatically. You just have to make sure you putt everything out, no gimmes.

BTW, major harsh windy today.

^ That's awesome. Looks like the live tracker during tournaments on the PGA site.

This is golfing in Calgary. Just bombing the ball in this altitude.

N.V.M. 07-25-2016 05:39 AM

Not a bad golf course too. Got two more rounds coming up in the next few days.

punkwax 07-25-2016 06:29 AM

Looks like you're teeing off in the trees..110yds with a 56* is a long way though.

N.V.M. 07-25-2016 05:23 PM

Pretty much in the bushes.

N.V.M. 07-26-2016 11:38 AM

Today I played Heritage Pointe. It's on Score Golf's Top 100 list.so manicured !

N.V.M. 07-26-2016 11:41 AM

Also the booming drives continue, through the whole bag actually. Playing at altitude is awesome.

N.V.M. 07-27-2016 10:52 AM

Woot!

N.V.M. 07-28-2016 06:44 PM

Played Heather Glen today. Nice little course, but nothing unique about it.Greens were in excellent shape and the cart girls were a 9/10.

N.V.M. 07-31-2016 06:21 PM

Back home last night and off to Riverway this morning. Looking at my drives I've lost that 10% gain from Calgary altitude. Sucks.

bcuzracecarz 08-01-2016 09:15 PM

So do you have to input every club you are going to use before you hit or what? I'm very tempted based on your pics, looks awesome!

N.V.M. 08-02-2016 03:47 AM

no. its all automatic. be warned though, you have to replace the batteries( CR2032's) in them every 40 rounds or so.

Picked up my clubs yesterday for the first time since September 13, 2001.
There wasn't a plane in the sky that day.....

Anyway, I took my boy to the driving range. We had a great time, and seeing the pics in this thread reminded me that I used to really enjoy golf. If all goes well, I'll pick up some clubs for the boy, and I'll have a partner to golf with.

Great thread btw.

Played Tobiano and Predator Ridge (Predator course) over the long weekend. Tobiano was such an amazing course, the conditions were perfect and the view was spectacular. Predator Ridge was really nice as well, but it was definitely a notch below Tobiano. Sucks that I played Tobiano first... would've enjoyed Predator Ridge a lot better if it were the other way around

It also says $32 US dollars more shipping and fees to Canada. With exchange . That comes out to the same price as Golftown, $299. So all you save is some taxes.

Played the canal 3 days ago for the first time touching the sticks in about a month, rusty with the putter 76, then played Surrey yesterday for 71 but again putter was rusty inside 6 feet FailFish

Looking for some new irons before the end of the year - clearance sales perhaps? I'm still on my Nike Slingshots from 2006 lol. I shoot in the low 80s consistently but these irons are just done. Hitting over 300 isn't a problem with the new driver but these irons play really short. Any recommendations for a good set under $700?

N.V.M. 08-07-2016 12:56 PM

Highly recommend AP2's. Best mid handicap iron I've hit. You might be able to pick up last year's model (714) for in and around that price if you wait a bit.

BTW, Nike announced this week that they will no longer be in the golf business, except for clothing. So good timing on dumping the Slingshots, lol.

Those are still good numbers. I always felt that anything under 80 was a good day.

:awwyeah:

I shot a 52 at mini golf in Whistler on sunday. Going for a 45 next time, bcuzminigolf.
