Sensicore!

Played 15 rounds so far this year.. way more then I've played the last few years.

I finally caved in about a month ago to my girlfriend and she's got me going to the driving range on a regular basis with her. It's a fair trade off, she teaches me how to golf - I teach her how to use a skateboard.

Soon I'll be able to go to a full sized course so I'm pretty stoked for that!

Played Chambers Bay two days ago. Beautiful spot. Golf course is hard with tricky greens to figure out. Sand everywhere! Must have hit 10-12+ bunkers. No carts available, you have to walk it and it's not an easy trek at all. Lots of pushing the clicgear uphill. Legs are sore today!

Played Loomis Trail yesterday. Shot 15 strokes better than I did at Chambers. Lol. Nice course but severe lack of yardage markers and I don't use a range finder. I prefer Semiahmoo myself.

where can I get a good deal on a driver?

belka 03-12-2018 07:54 PM

Been down in San Diego area for about three weeks now for work. Got a chance to play Coronado, Tecolote Canyon, Eastlake Country Club, Miramar Memorial a couple times and Tahquitz Creek in Palm Springs. My rounds have been consistently in the 80-85 range. I don't know what it'll take to get into the 70's now. Been playing around with the grip style for last couple rounds. Still unsure how to properly grip my lower (I'm a lefty) hand. I use a baseball style grip, tried the interlock but it didn't feel good at all.

I know that consistency is key but I still have those blow-up holes on front/back nine where I shoot a double or worse. I've also noticed that most of the wear on my irons are on the toe side of the face, does that indicate I'm standing too far from the ball?

blkgsr 04-24-2018 07:09 AM

look for a new driver to upgrade from my ping g10

i have a fast club head speed (100mph+) so i need a stiff flex, and i hit the ball high so i need a low deg face

tried out the M3/M4 and ping g400 last night at golf town

any swing and stance issues aside i hit the M4 the farthest but the g400 the straightest, want to try them all again at a real driving range with decent balls and real flight

where's the best range/store to do this?

also picked up a pair of the under armour spieth 2's last night. didn't want to pay that much for a pair of shoes but after getting another pair off sport check and them not fitting right, i tried these on while hitting the drivers and they felt great, damn well better for the price lol

Played at Chambers Bay earlier this year with the FB deal. I kept my driver in the bag the whole time except for the first hole. That Bermuda stretch of bunkers was horrible...:derp:

If you or anyone you know owns Taylormade M2 irons check the long irons for face caving. The plastic inserts in the faces make them susceptible to warping. Rub your thumb across the face and if it’s not perfectly flat around the insert, they’re damaged.

Taylormade sent me a new set of M6’s to replace mine and they were a few weeks out of warranty :fuckyea:

Reviving from the dead....anyone playing lately? I've been trying to socially distance myself on the course as much as possible, unfortunately just not quite as much as I'd like to.

punkwax 06-01-2020 07:47 AM

I’ve played Pagoda, Nico-Wynd, Peace Portal and Westwood Plateau this year. Playing Redwoods Thursday.

I've been recovering/rehabbing from a meniscus reconstruction back in Feb. Hoping to get a round in before the end of the season this year but it's looking bleak. Don't want to put myself out for another 9-12 months because I got too eager. Probably going to treat myself to a new set of clubs and get the bag ready for next season instead.

Played Westwood last month for the first time in about 10 years, jesus what a shadow of it's former self..

This year is the first time i've played multiple rounds in the last 2-3 years due to tennis elbow in both my arms. Really loving playing again.

Have played Guildford and Surrey a bunch, Westwood, Chilliwack G&C, Northview, and Ledgeview

my buddy and his dad and I played Ledgeview with a 630am tee time driving from surrey lol.. it was the day they were having their club open and jesus christ, the toughest pin placement i've ever played anywhere, it was fucking insane.. like if you were above the pin you're fucked, a tiny tap and you're 6-10 feet passed in the opposite direction

I’ve played Big Sky, Chateau Whistler, Bear Mountain - Valley Course, Northview Ridge, Hazelmere, Delta and Morgan Creek twice since this last post.

Playing Northview Canal this Thursday then Bear Mountain - Mountain Course next Tuesday.

It’s been a good season but I’ll probably hang them up soon after next week. Friend of mine is a member at Beach Grove and we’ve been trying to get out so hoping to add that to this year’s list before I do.

Looking for a magazine if it exists.

British Columbia Golf? Don't know the actual name but thats the website. Theres a magazine but I cant find it in a store unless it's a subscription only type of magazine. They did an article on my girlfriend this month and I'd like to get my hands on a hard copy. We're watching women's golf right now on NBC and they did a flashback to the 2014womens open of Lucy Li and it was my girlfriend playing in her group and shes in the background getting ready to swing 😂.

I was dealing with a shoulder injury the past 2 years that I have finally rehabbed from (hopefully). Haven't picked up a club in 3 years and would be nice to get back into it.

I want to teach my wife how to golf - good activity to do together. Once she learns grip and basics, etc... Is it better to start at the range or to start small stuff like chipping?

punkwax 06-07-2021 11:50 AM

Both. Range to figure out distances but always important to practice chipping/putting so look for a facility where you can do both.

Hondaracer 06-10-2021 01:34 PM

Anyone bought new irons lately ?

Been looking at a few sets, hard to get a feel at the range :/
