How detailed do you want them? Look at the ones I posted near the top of this page. The second one is full page...the others are partial scans.

Very nice! I thought the Thompson Okanagan book had the Tulameen area on it too? The Vancouver one looks like it has a better view, though.
I'm all in for a day trip sometime. I'll be going to the area quite a bit over the summer. I never knew how much stuff there was to see.

I never knew how much stuff there was to see. | The map in the Vancouver book has an area just under the Tulameen/Coalmont area. It's a continuation of the full page map I posted earlier in the thread, the second picture.
These two go together, but you need to buy both books to get them.

We should pick a day in July or August soon to give people enough time to plan out the excursion.
Senna, not sure if you're interested, but I swapped in the rear brace and now I have a BT Plate layin' around. I'll probably give it to my cousin, but if you're interested in trying it out for a bit, first, I can help install it on your Prius.

It replaces the stock brace at the rear of the car located near the middle. It'll brace up the back end, and allow your suspension to do more work. It helps stabilize the vehicle on the highway when it gets buffeted by wind or passing trucks. More noticeably, it'll help with turning, and keep all the corners more firmly planted on the road.
I've been using it for a year and a half and it rocks. It might be worth a try, if you want to improve your handling. Installation would take less than 10 minutes.

There is also a good reference book called the Coquihalla country. Some of the roads on the maps are not that accessible on car and have road bars.
Oh there are plenty of Prius mods batteries.. full plug in hybrid conversions etc. Things you don't know about don't mean they don't exist.

Headin' up to Coalmont Rd. tomorrow for a few hours. I want to see what difference summer 'performance' tires make. If anyone else is going that way, keep an eye out for the Prius rippin' through the corners.

Went to Aggasiz/Harrison on Sunday after church, since I figured that was the last Sunny. warm day. What a great drive. I did a big loop by heading there from the exit past Chilliwack, and made my way back to Langley via the Lougheed, and through Coquitlam. and then the No. 1 home. Autumn r0x0rs for the scenic visuals.

Came across one of the best routes tonight while out for a cruise with a couple other cars. Luckily I had my laptop and GPS running so I can snag a screen shot for you guys.
It's out in the Abbotsford area.
There are a couple ways you can do this but the way we went was to start East-bound on Clayburn Road and continue until you hit Sumas Mountain Road. Turn left so you're going up the mountain via Upper Sumas Mountain Road. It will eventually turn into a gravel road (which is an awesome route for off-roading, btw). At which point, turn around and just follow it until it turns from Upper Sumas Mountain Road into Sumas Mountain Road. Eventually you'll get to an intersection it meets up with Atkinson Road. Turn right and you'll find yourself on Lower Sumas Mountain Road. This stretch is the absolute cherry of this route. Zero traffic on a near switch-back route on the mountain side. It's a bloody amazing run.
I've got some more routes marked out on my GPS for future exploring this week. Now that it's supposed to be relatively nice (great, I just jinxed it, didn't I?), some of these mountain passes should be pretty dry at night.
I'll keep you all posted with routes when they happen. |

Coalmont Rd? Clayburn Rd, right? That's a great road. I've driven it before. There is an awesome little British style coffee shop on Clayburn Rd in Clayburn Village. Great soups and sandwiches.

Went and drove the Sumas Mtn road this afternoon. It's a great little jaunt. Some gorgeous forestland there. Got up to the point where it switches to gravel and then decided to turn back. Kinda gross how much development has climbed/sprawled up the mountain though.
Views from the top/back of the mountain.
It was at this point that I realized that at some point between Burnaby and Abbotsford, my front license plate fell off.
My friend's 240 with me.
The road ahead (which unfortunately leads straight to suburbia).
Me and my ride. |
