ssonss1 05-31-2007 12:47 AM

HondaGuy 05-31-2007 03:57 AM

And only 40KM from just purchasing from the dealer all in one day!

Damn...hope the driver's alright...

Sidenote...I can see ppl getting dibs on the seats already...

:raiseshand: ... "me me me..."

Jason00S2000 05-31-2007 04:41 AM

Wow. 40 kms on the odo.

Lucky he didn't kill anyone.

I wish they restricted certain HP to people with special licenses.

thumper 05-31-2007 06:21 AM

if someone sees a low mileage silver sti going for cheap at one of those shady dealerships on kingsway in the near future... fair warning!

Presto 05-31-2007 07:23 AM

Think it'll be totalled or repaired? Either way, major pnwage to the owner.

AzNightmare 05-31-2007 07:56 AM

I guess the noob thought the AWD traction was invincible...

linlaomu 05-31-2007 08:49 AM

It's the first round of World Rally Championships: Bridgeport series - which team Subaru did ended up under the bridge. The Subaru team needs to get back into the game because there's a Mitsubishi dealer on Bridgeport and their 6 speed automatic Lancers are taking the lead.

If the damage is to the front of a Subaru, it's most likely it's totalled because the Flat 4 calls for drive belts in the front, if anything such as the radiator/AC condenser pushes into the spinning belts... Gone!

kspec 05-31-2007 09:00 AM

it takes quite some speed to lose traction in a AWD, soft compound tires, and a dry sunny day.

mmm i have no pity for the person.

If there is no other vehicle involved, I must say I agree. Let him learn the lesson the hard way.

asian_XL 05-31-2007 09:09 AM

I almost crashed my bike near that bridge, a lot of people just don't see the lane merging sign near costco

v67gsr 05-31-2007 09:11 AM

Wonder if ICBC will cover it.

Obviously, overspeed was the only possible cause of this accident unless another vehicle taped the STi and made it off track and loose control. I say it may consider reckless driving if no other vehicle involved..

604Sparda 05-31-2007 09:13 AM

What happened to "breaking in"?
Premature driver..

kenny@s2ki 05-31-2007 09:42 AM

babydubz 05-31-2007 10:44 AM

now...where's the picture of that guy pulling his Accord out of the ditch....

ejseq 05-31-2007 11:07 AM

haha, i test drove a wrx yesterday at the subaru dealership and the guy told me about this crash. its funny to see the pixs now. He said there wasn't another car involved. They just drove stupid and crashed.

and the guys who bought it were told repeatedly to take it easy for the first while to break in the engine...and even after that the car has so much power becareful.

bwco 05-31-2007 01:08 PM

usually, STi either crash in the first month of ownership or doesn't crash at all.

J__ 05-31-2007 01:15 PM

man how is that even possible. he musta been goin pretty damn fast in those conditions

JDMBB6 05-31-2007 01:26 PM

WTF. hows that possible....was the driver drunk? did he fall asleep? or did he swerve to miss a bird? very confused....

TRD3000GT 05-31-2007 01:43 PM

LMAO 40km old car being totaled.

Presto 05-31-2007 01:56 PM

He probably drove a 4-banger before, and figured he had to stomp on the gas to get anywhere.

Even then, it would be hard to crash like that with STi's superb handling and grip.
