I would call in a bug them to credit you back b/c as far as I know, taxes have not gone up.
It is more about the principle of it too. Imagine how much they are making if they over charge a lot of clients and everyone thinks the same as pays it.
From their website, it looks like they're now charging $5/100mb. Not sure if they still use the flex scale or whatever it was back then.

I will be leaving Rogers after my current term is up. I'm sick and tired of their shitty coverage in areas that they should be working. I was downtown around Davie and Denman for the fireworks and had no signal on Saturday last weekend. I get no signal in ROGERS FUCKING ARENA!! My office is a concrete building, that means no signal for Rogers! The funny thing is my work supplies me with a Telus phone and it works like a champ where I work.

Got my email as well, $10 increase to $65+taxes now. sigh.
My bill went up a couple of bucks a few months ago to $70 without any notice, if they do it again I'm gonna be choked. The shitty thing is even if it goes up another 10 bucks I won't be able to leave and get a better deal since all the new plans are garbage.

The only alternative is the Koodo Manitoba plan, but that comes with 5GB instead of the 6GB we're use to.
What plan are you on now and what plan are you switching to that'll save you that much?
im currently on a Rogers shared plan 6gb data, shared unlimited cdn minutes
for 152 taxes in. mother doesnt even use much data, heck none of us even use the phone for calling. usually viber over wifi and then i drain the data myself
need to buy her contract out for 330. when i do.
im switching to a BYOD plan on fido the $40 one for her and 60 for myself.
once im a fido member for 9o days i can call retentions and get a retention plan for myself which will save me $$$.

I'm planning to switch to "Tablet plan" for my phone soon. If your family always use Viber or other VOIP services to contact each other.. you will save a lot of money quickly.
Fido has a $15 Data Flex Plan. It's meant for tablets but it'll work just fine for phones. They'll even issue you a phone number.. just make sure not to use this plan to make actual phone calls through your "Phone" app.. cause it'll cost you $1/minute.. lol
