Before I jumped ship to Mobilicity, I was told that all my credits would not be renewable. Especially the ones that had expired about a month ago and the ones that were to expire in the next year.
Rogers sucks cock now for retentions.

Rogers sucks cock now for retentions. | This is a big reason why I jumped ship as well. I was going to eat a premium had Rogers actually offered something remotely competitive.
After backreading over 15+ pages on RFD, it looks like retentions is on lockdown and is not going anywhere near plans that had been given out in previous years.

The $25 BTS plan could be sold for so much money when reception is no longer an issue. Realistically, that's only towers we're talking about.

I'm not saying that mobi is without its problems but in terms of customer service and rates, they are far superior to that of rogers.
Like I said before, the towers will eventually be built. I don't see mobi going bankrupt and can only see them in an upward trend should they follow what they are currently doing.

Jumped to Bell, Bell gave me the same price I was paying at Rogers for 3 years but added 6GB data instead of 1 from Rogers and added voicemail for the same price.

perhaps the days of Rogers will be over for me too. Looking forward to leave them as their current service and policies are very disappointing and provide no reward to loyal customers.

any success stories of anyone convincing a retention agent to not bill you early upgrade price and also waive the $35 bullshit administration fee. | didn't get admin fee waived but I did get a $300 ecf waived. Upgraded to bb 9700 last sept and then called in to get 3gs in july so was only about 10 months into new contract

Fuck Rogers. | How do you find mobilicity? Do you ever find yourself with no reception?
I like their plans but I dont like the idea of having "roaming" areas even though I'm still in the 604 area code

I like their plans but I dont like the idea of having "roaming" areas even though I'm still in the 604 area code | The only area that has terrible reception is up at SFU. But then again, I get full bars if I'm up at certain areas.
Every other area, I have not experienced roaming. I frequent Vancouver East + West, Downtown, Burnaby (North + South) and Richmond.
I know there are issues right now with underground but I'm seldom there. Maybe there like 5-10mins for parking but other than that, I'm never out of reception range.
Where I live, I get full bars. Normally I'm between 3-5 bars and rarely less.
About a month in and no dropped calls yet.

If you work in a a dense building you might have issues w/ no reception.
In the building that I work in, I put my phone in airplane mode cuz it doesn't get reception where I store my phone, otherwise it would be completely drained looking for a signal.
In Metrotown, you're gonna be alright (full bars everywhere) unless you're @ the bottom floor (aka T&T area). I had no reception today when I was there checking out LG's and eating my char siu fan.
I frequent E. Hastings and Commercial/Naniamo area a lot. What I can say is that it is a bit of a dead zone there but I get at least 2 bars and it holds on strong (no drop calls, clear quality). However, I mistakenly rebooted my phone and it couldn't grasp a signal again until I was out of the area.
Everywhere along the skytrain route has full signals and where I live (South Burnaby) I have full signals as well.
Otherwise, I've had zero issues and I am happy with the service. Better than paying double or triple that for Rogers. I use my phone but it isn't of utmost importance to me. If you're going for 100% reliability, you may still want to stick with the big 3.

Rogers fucking sucks shit..whats with their customer service/retentions departments nowadays.
I had called in on 3 occasions to ask to have my girlfriends Rogers number (no contract) ported to my plan (1.5years remaining) because I was leaving the country. I was told this could be done on 3 occasions by 3 different people. I called to have this done and the manager confirmed everything with me.
I get to Hong Kong and my girlfriend told me rogers told them it can't be done and that its not possible to port wtihin the same carrier. All they could offer my girlfriend was 250 minutes/1gb data/iphone value pack/incoming calls for $85+ tax....fucking ridiculous...nothing close to what i had before 700 minutes, 6gb data, iphone vaule pack, income and network calling for 70 inclusive. I called in to speak to rogers directly and the manager basically told me there's nothing they can do...fuck them....i want to seriously bring this issue to court. They admitted they fucked up but all they can offer my girlfriend is a shitty ass plan and I have to pay a $240 ECF.

Rogers Rentation does suck now. I been with them for 10 years. They offered me a price plan that gave me less minutes and they still want to charge me more $$.
All they are doing is taking an existing plan and shuffling some stuff around. If you want more minutes, they will take away your voice mail. If you want voice mail, they will give you less minutes.
How are they trying to retain us as clients? I am losing $20 in credits. At minimum they should give you what you have been paying previously. Doesn't that make sense?

i know this kind of has been mentioned. I'm thinking of cancelling my rogers contract that ends in January, but i really want this $25 plan and settle for a older phone (panache or nexus S). I'm just wondering if I can still keep my cell # or do I need a completely new # from mobilicity? also, should i just wait for my rogers contract to expire or pay the cancellation fee and go with this $25 plan? lastly (sorry for all the questions), does unlimited local calling mean unlimited daytime to rogers/fido/wind, etc so we don't have to worry about minutes at all?
thanks for being patient. i'm just another ancient phone user who wants to upgrade to a new phone yet get a decent plan.

thanks for being patient. i'm just another ancient phone user who wants to upgrade to a new phone yet get a decent plan. | You can keep your old (current) number should you port you number over to Mobilicity. This is effectively cancel your contract and you will need to pay Rogers some money for early cancellation.
Seeing as it's only a few months away, I would just call Rogers up and ask how much it would be to cancel. From there, you know exactly how much you're going to need to pay.
Then all you have to do is walk into a mobi store and sign up for the 25 BTS plan and ask them to port your number over instead of assigning a new number.
The guys at Commercial and 1st Ave did this for my brother and everything went smoothly.

Roger has certainly tightened up for sure but it's still possible to get a good deal on their services. You just have to be patient and get a good rep. I just recently signed a new 3 year contract.
Before renewal
$17.50 - EPP plan (200 minutes, free evenings and weekends at 6PM)
$30.00 - Iphone value pack (500 mb, 10,000 text messages, caller id, voicemail)
$6.95 - SAF
.75 - 911
$61.82 after taxes
After renewal
$17.50 - EPP plan (200 minutes, free evenings and weekends at 6PM)
$30.00 - Iphone value pack (500 mb, 10,000 text messages, caller id, voicemail)
$2.35 - GRF
Free incoming
Free rogers 2 rogers
100 LD canada minutes
$55.83 after taxes
I'm pretty happy, I told them that I wanted to lower my bill to $50 after taxes but since I'm on the EPP plan, they couldn't really budge. I couldn't swing any credits but the 3 services they gave me makes up for it. Be patient guys....

That's pretty good. How many times did you have to call the Relations line to get a good rep? Did you get an upgrade to the iPhone 4S as well?
