socialenemy69 02-17-2009 01:35 AM

I downloaded the program to try it back in October and after a month or so, I injured my shoulder and then became sick so I stopped working out. It was working good, but I wasnt eating properly so I was just bulking up.

Now I Purchased the DVDs from Wal mart about 4 weeks ago and have been following the nutrition plan and damn am I ever seeing results. Lost approximately 8 pounds in the first two weeks, and I keep losing fat and gaining lean muscle.

The program works exactly as advertised if you follow the nutrition plan.
Cant wait to start Phase 2 next week and get my ass kicked all over again.

How detailed is the nutrition plan? Do they have you eating 6 meals a day? Working on the road I find it hard as hell to eat right... I have no time during the day to eat so I usually have a big breakfast and then a big dinner and another meal after working out. I need to get myself some meal supplements :(

Berz out.

I have only used the ab ripper program and its pretty intense. We'll have to wait to see what happens in two more months. Commitment is a big part of any program as long as you can stay in it you will see results.

Don't cheat.

Eat clean and you'll notice it after a week for sure.

Yeah they give you a whole meal plan for 7 days, I have pretty much narrowed it down to this as being my most consistent meals I eat:

breakfast - 8 egg whites + 1 whole egg scrambled with 2 slices of Turkey bacon, or protein shake and banana and apple.
snack - protein shake and protein bar
Lunch - usually 6 inch subway sandwich or a chicken salad, or tuna salad.
Snack - protein bar or maybe a vector bar, or tuna snack packs.
Dinner - Salmon with Wild rice, chicken with baked potato, usually with garden salad.
Just before bed - one cup of cottage cheese.

As far as eating healthy on the road. there is always a Subway around or grocery store where you can get chicken and garden salads for lunch or a healthy sub. If you crave burgers go to A&W and get the Grilled chicken Deluxe burger with side salad and Italian dressing. In my office I have lots of Protein bars and tuna snack packs that I have and I will usually bring in my shaker cup with my protein powder.

I'm on this but since my goal is to get size, I still cheat =) haha...I can't see myself losing too much weight and be skinny..doesn't suit me as i am pretty tall.

Question: Will the chin up bar damage the door frame? How do you know that it won't rip the door frame out?

Armind 04-03-2009 03:59 PM

Hmm i'm giving this a try soon :D

Shouldn't damage the door frame at all. If its properly installed, it should be completely adjacent to the stud supports of the door frame.

If its not installed properly, as in not 100% horizontal, the bar will fall straight down and you'll fall on your feet...so no harm there.

Armind 04-03-2009 04:30 PM

Damn it, Chapters has it on their site, but not for delivery. If it was, then my Chapter gift card that I got could be useful after since there's not much that interests me there lol. Downloading it right now as we speak :D 18%

I'm on day 3 after starting monday. Never been this sore in my life. Following the nutrition plan exactly and I chose quick and easy foods to make. Its easier because everything is spelled out for you. I highly recommend it if you can commit.

iPee 04-16-2009 11:16 PM

ab ripper program reminds me of muay thai training

I think I'll start it tomorrow bye bye to burger and beers :(

once you download....how the hell do you burn it to watch it on your DVD player???

i've never burnt dvd's to watch on my player, just at memory back up

mugentsx 04-21-2009 10:24 PM

anyone want to post results?

aznhustler 04-30-2009 03:28 PM

I recommend P90X you get results but you really need to be committed to the workouts

Hondaracer 04-30-2009 03:44 PM

the P90x facebook group before and after photos really arent all that encouraging lol

imo P90X is great if your commited to it everyday, and you have a reasonably physique already, otherwise if your overweight etc. i think your better off spending the hour a day doing intense cardio [and yes i know P90 has cardio]

a couple of my friends are doing it right now fairly commited and im going strictly cardio training so we'll see in a bit who's seeing results :)

Warp9Racing 05-03-2009 07:59 AM

just outta curiosity what kind of equipment do you need to get started?

i've just begun working out the last month, do you think this is a program for me? or should i spend a bit more weeks at the gym before moving on to this program?
i heard you should already be in semi decent shape before doing p90x

sdubfid 05-03-2009 01:53 PM

You need a chin-up bar, a chair and some weights or reistance bands. Pretty simple stuff. I've been going for ~20 days straight now. Eating the same thing everyday except for my birthday which I had 3 beers.

Phase 1 is high protein. I'm at 2100-2400calories/day Roughly 50% protein 30% carbs and 20% fat. I haven't cheated on my diet at all except for the above mentioned beer. I've been having eggbeaters, tuna, skim milk, chicken breast, apple, whole wheat tortilla, lettuce, banana, spinach, carrots, whey protein, lots of water.

I haven't missed one workout. You are allowed 1 day of rest each week so I have used 2 of those in my 3 weeks. The 4th week is a recovery week with no heavy weights.

So far I have lost maybe 1-2lbs but dropped ~3% bodyfat in the past 3 weeks. From what I have been reading the biggest changes happen during the 2nd and 3rd phases so I can't wait.

So far I'm pleased with the results though. I did not workout in the past 4 or 5 months before starting this program so I was really out of shape. I just said I can do it and started doing it everyday, I've only been at it 3 weeks but its all in your head. You will be sore at first and not completing all the moves but just keep at it.
