95 images HDR image by a Canon G7

...i only wish there can be a digital camera that can pictures like this in one shot.

probalby have to wait 10 years for that,
if it will ever happen.

K-Dub 02-27-2007 12:02 AM

So.. i'm looking to get a new computer.

i don't know if i should wait a month or so or just get it now. my "workload" from photography is starting to increase, exponentially. from school events to sports and now group photoshoots, it's getting harder for me to maintain my patience while working on my (gasp) 800mhz P3 with 1gb ram.. (6 years old now?) and having photoshop cs2 bridge and rawshooters open all at the same time. which is my main reason for upgrading.

mac or pc.. mac or pc...hm!

for apple... looking at either an imac or a 15' macbook. there are rumors that apple is coming out with a new 24' black imac, and new macbooks. damnit! i don't want to be stuck on the end of their "newest" technology when they come out with new shit. :-(

Meowjin 02-27-2007 01:00 AM

pc is cheaper

check out acer laptops.

Senna4ever 02-27-2007 02:09 AM

Acer, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo (formerly IBM), Sony will all be good.

Eurocom is also great...you don't get all of those un-needed software that clutters up computers from the other companies.

Any of you frequent the BCCamera classifieds?

If you've paid any attention, you'd notice the majority of the FS threads have zero replies. Not because the community is small, but that posts keep getting deleted by the mods! They say if questions are asked in the FS ads, other threads get bumped down. So in order to give equal viewing time to all threads, they prevent people from posting.

I raised the issue with CHIA, nothing happened. Then I made a post about it in the general discussion to get other people's opinion, and they deleted the thread and then banned me.

Absolutely hilarious.

So anyway, if you hate dictatorships as much as I do, then go ahead and question the BCC mods on how they feel censorship is in line with open dialogue and free communication.

Ha ha, I was gonna ask you about that, I went to the main forum page, and it said the newest post was ______(something about the abusive moderation? I can't remember the wording) by dcp. I kinda laughed, cause I had noticed it too, so I went to read what you had posted but it wasn't there anymore? I thought that was pretty funny

it looks like something very fun, and we can finally combine both digital and our lomographic/antique cameras to good use!

that person has some very good shots too.

Senna4ever 03-04-2007 05:35 PM

Did you read my post about them being Nazist? Gone, all gone.

Either they banned me for your Nazi comment, or else they thought the word "bigot" was a racist remark, cause there wasn't a single other comment that would even hint at racism; this claim is absurd:

CHIA's response to the ban:

***********
I didn't ban him.....I was going back & forth with him & a couple
others, then went out for the afternoon.
When I got back, I had about 8 PM's from different people complaining,
including the ownership of bccamera,
asking us to ban him, etc. The deed was done while I was out. I guess
there were members who were actually
offended, and coupled with the bccamera people, who put their foot
down,
it was over.

I could not rightfully ban someone just because they didn't agree with
me, that would be absurd, and totally wrong.
I didn't see all of the posts, as the whole thread was deleted in my
absence too, but was told that there were some
pretty off-side remarks, that were considered racists That, from what I
was told, was the straw that broke the camel's
back. I had no issue with the back & forth, but I guess the relentless
aspect was difficult to understand....the rules were
not going to be changed, and it was starting to sound like a broken
record. Bottom line is there are clear rules set out,
and they are not up for debate.....

I have another question. Does the monthly contest interest people?!

I got a couple new ideas, but they would be more useful in the summer.

Mananetwork 03-07-2007 10:08 AM

anybody?

Clearly not. Look at the number of submissions in each contest.

You need to provide greater positive incentives to stimulate interest.

Perhaps the reason why for the diminishing number of entries is because of too broad a topic and subsequent interpretations that need to develop.

Perhaps picking a subject like a color, or something like landscape, abstract, animal etc.

This would cultivate a more unified theme for contest. Interpreting a month and it's meaning may be too broad. Also maybe make the shooting time within 3-6 months of the start of the contest.

Just a thought.

Gopher 03-07-2007 11:00 AM

I agree with the first two paragraphs there, but I'm not so sure about that third one...

Mananetwork 03-08-2007 10:28 AM

Alright, i'll look into it
