Anyone planning to get one?

The D4 is completely unnecessary imo unless your an actual pro photographer and only accepting the best in quality...

Oh c'mon :concentrate: That's like saying, the BMW M5 is unneccessary unless you're a professional driver and accepting only the best in quality. You're telling me that you'd return the camera if it was given to you as a present?

Sometimes people are really into the gear aspect.

But I get what you're trying to say. I'm sure there's many people on here that own pro equipment that are only hobbyist.

I'm hoping D3s prices drop in a year or so, maybe I'll pick one up used and shoot for fun w/ it's low light capabilities.

LOL.. tell all the kids in Richmond that have Ferrari's ect that!

Looks to be an amazing camera forsure! Senna you are lucky to get ur hands on one a few days after its been launched! Now take it out to Boundary Bay and the Nikon 600mm F4! (Yes i know that's not possible)

LiquidTurbo 01-06-2012 10:03 PM

THis should be an awesome Olympics camera with all the remote control features and the wireless and LAN port.

Professionals must be drooling at their ability to virtually instantaneously upload their photos to news publishers, etc.

-EuroRSN- 01-06-2012 10:16 PM

Dont get me wrong Im sure its a great Camera but its not worth the $5000+ Price tag to me. Like i said unless your a pro photographer and this is your career the D4 is just a dream... Just like an M5 or a Ferrari

^^^ that author, a master of the obvious..wow. how informative. i wonder if he had help with that?

I'm thinking about picking up an used D700 as they're sub $2000 now. It's still more camera than I need and a huge upgrade over my D200. I see some D3s going for $3k on CL, but that's still too much for me.

LiquidTurbo 01-08-2012 07:39 PM

The D200 ISO noise at ISO 400 is probably the same as the D700's 3200. Definitely worth the upgrade. The D700 is 3 years old, but still great. I picked up one new several weeks ago after learning that the D800 will be 36MP. I intend to shoot with it for a very long time..

43 Rumors | Blog | (FT4) Olympus will launch an OM alike Micro Four Thirds camera!

Should compete w/ the Fuji, and be cheaper. Looks very attractive, IMO
