nikon so outnumbered there!! LOL |
From our forums: D700 issues This could be my first rant since joining... As some of you know, I have had intermittent top corner vignetting with my D700 for the past couple of years. The camera and various lenses have been to Nikon for checking on three separate occasions with NO solution, but on each 'visit' the camera was cleaned...This latest cleaning left spots on the sensor so I wonder exactly what was done for the $$$ that they charged. (I'm under an extended warranty which was a good thing) A total of a dozen sample images have been sent to Nikon for their perusal along with the camera body etc. Numerous recent emails along with the staff at my local Henry's being more than helpful. You should know that some of the staff at Henry's managed to get the same vignetting as I do so it's not my technique... My frustration level is increasing and today I received a response from Nikon that would make you cry... Hello Stephen, Thank you for contacting Nikon Technical Support. In regards to your question, are you using any lens hood by any chance? If so, please remove your lens hood, and proceed to taking photos. This should resolve your issue. Regards, The Nikon Team |

Alright, so some pretty big announcement from SONY again. - The Full Frame SLT Camera; "A99" - NEX-6. All the great physical attributes of the NEX-7 but with a 16mpx sensor. It sits between the NEX-5 and NEX-7 - SONY RX1, FULL Frame super compact fixed lens camera!!!. Cost around $2800. - SONY VG-900. FULL Frame E-mount Video camera!!!!!! I'm too lazy to write in detail about each thing. Here's the link to them Livecoverage: New Sony cameras and lenses announced! Surprise: Zeiss 50mm!!! | sonyalpharumors Oh and a 16-50mm Power Zoom for the E-mount!!!! |
Tempted to upgrade my nex 5 to the 6. The hybrid af. |
Probably something from Nikon VERY soon. :) |
Hmm. I'm also thinking about the EOS M since I can use my Canon lenses with adapter however the M seems kinda boring compared to the others. |

I hope it's that, because that means Canon has to release their competition. mmm cheap FF. :ahwow: |
There's currently a lot of "controversy" around the price of the RX1. To me there isn't a problem as there really isn't any competing product out there. Plus it's a FULL-FRAME compact. Much smaller than the Leica M9. (if you want to compare size). I'm guessing SONY will release an interchangeable variation next year like how Fuji did with the X1 series. (Milking consumers) If I went and bought a similar Zeiss lens, it would be well over 1K. Then taking in the fact that it's a Full-Frame camera, you'll tact on that "special premium". Add the compact size of this thing and I guess you can sort of say that the price isn't that "unreasonable". If they made this with a built in OLED Viewfinder then this camera would be even more stellar. This would be the perfect "poor man's" Leica. There I said it! Too bad they don't have a hotshoe adapter that would make the NEX OLED viewfinder available for it. That would be pretty f*cking cool. Anyway, I know I'm sounding like a SONY fanboy but whatever! That's my $0.02! |

if they had more compact and decently priced glass like olympus and panasonic i'd consider sony/canon/nikon systems. the price/performance you can get w/ a gx1+20mm+14mm and maybe the upcoming 17mm is hard to beat. really like the nex-6 on paper tho |
