Oh great it's out.

Well to be fair, it kind of has to be if they don't want to cannibalize 5d3 sales. To me who's looking for a budget ff camera, this and the d600 intrigue me. However, if it's not a big enough improvement over the 7d in low light I won't be buying.

The one thing that somewhat irks me is the AF system. It's too bad they couldn't put in the 7d system at least. I always use the center point and focus/recompose, but the AF system in the 6D at least on paper is marginally better than my current 50D.

Once I get some low-light comparisons, I'll be able to decide whether to get the 6D, sell my EF kit to go d600, or pass on FF altogether this time around. The 5dm3, though my ideal choice, is just too expensive :'(

Sigma announces 3 new lenses today:

Product | SIGMA GLOBAL VISION

I wonder how the 35 compares to the 35L. And 120-300 2.8 with HSM and OS? That would be nice to have :P

Anyone else digging their new lens design? Assuming it's metal construction, I'm liking the new black finish/design.

Trying to decide between the 24 f1.4 or the 35 f1.4. Leaning toward the 24.

Hondaracer 09-17-2012 07:39 PM

You guys know any cheaper/better options for canvas prints other than Costco?

They can do 24X36 on a nice canvas print for around $110, I'm thinking of creating a panoramic made up of two of these 24X36

Any suggestions?

Definitely can't go wrong with either. I'd say go with your gut, as I'd probably go 24L too.

i'd go with the 24 f1.4, it's a great focal length.

Senna4ever 09-18-2012 10:44 AM

I prefer the 35L. :)

skyxx 09-18-2012 11:12 PM

Oh dear. A Hasselblad E-mount camera. Basically a NEX-7 with very expensive exterior materials. No thanks. Why the heck would they dilute the brand.

Senna4ever 09-19-2012 12:23 AM

Because apparently there is a market for palladium & carbon fibre NEX bodies. Fuck that shit...

skyxx 09-19-2012 01:37 AM

The kit lens will come with an 18-55mm(like the NEX systems) but "uses" Hasselblad Glass. Not sure what to make of it.

Phase One came out with a new one today the 645DF+ supposedly under $6k

645DF+ medium format camera

Test drive Phase One

well i guess its kinda old news now but its new news to me :P

Senna4ever 09-19-2012 11:42 AM

I'm not a fan of Phase One bodies - too many AF & reliability issues.

Hasselblad just came out with the H5D body, too. Too bad the Phocus software kinda sucks compared to Phase One's Capture software.
H5D

I can't wait to get my hands on both of them to try them out though.
