Another website using my pictures.

http://www.yudirianto.web.id/whats-t...inders-missing

This kind of sucks.

LiquidTurbo 12-12-2012 06:51 PM

Not much you can do is there? That's the reality of posting stuff on the net. Damn. Watermarking photos doesn't help either. Personally I see no going in watermarking photos..

Matsuda 12-12-2012 08:16 PM

this ebay listing has been using my shot for awhile, I've been meaning to send in a report to ebay.

90 97 Miata GV Style Front R Packakge Rear Lip Kits Spoiler Mazda MX5 NA PU | eBay

cdnav8r 12-12-2012 09:24 PM

What are you using to find websites that are using your photos? Just google image search?

european 12-12-2012 09:33 PM

wow Bill, that's pretty lame. They stole your photo then put their ebay store name watermark on it. If they are making money off of your photo as some kid says, "oh look at that Miata, that front lip looks so sick! I'm gonna buy that lip right now!" then that's double lame. I hope you are able to resolve the problem in a timely fashion.

I'm not finding the images, I was messaged a few times on preludepower by members who found my photographs on other websites when they were looking searching online. I'm not sure how they found them but I guess they were looking through google images.

Matsuda 12-12-2012 09:45 PM

bikerx told me about ebay ad, thats his brother's miata. That was a few months ago and I haven't faxed in the form to ebay yet. At first I emailed the seller saying I didn't authorize the seller to use my image, but it was ignored of course

Those of you with retina MBPs, Lightroom 4.3 final is out.

LiquidTurbo 12-13-2012 10:25 PM

Maybe some of your photo experts know.. my laptop (ASUS G73), card reader doesn't read 32GB SD cards from Sandisk. I can read a 64GB no name brand SD card. Any ideas?

Hehe 12-13-2012 10:52 PM

^

SD card type and reader model?

LiquidTurbo 12-13-2012 10:58 PM

^ the one standard with the laptop. already upgraded the drivers...

On another note, Sigma 35mm f1.4 is incredible. Just picked up a copy.

inv4zn 12-13-2012 11:30 PM

^I'm sorry, but that review is much too annoying to watch.

The guy thinks he's a rapper with all the hand's in the air, stutters and uh uh's too much, and half the review is basically subjective...

Where is the DigitalRev one :troll:

Lost my 50mm's lens cap somewhere  Anyone know where I can get another one locally?

Beau Photo? :)

european 12-19-2012 02:01 PM

Why do photos always look better on my Nikon D90 LCD versus my crappy ass MacBook? They should call it CrapBook :( So discouraged right now.
Does the camera compress the NEF file for preview so it looks much more appealing but once on a computer everything gets unpressed so one is able to make adjustments? Or perhaps its the quality of LCD display?
I recall reading about this before but I cannot remember the details.

Matsuda 12-19-2012 02:31 PM

It renders the preview as a jpg with a little bit of processing. If you're shooting in raw, then its going to look different since RAWs are unprocessed

Oh, I don't know...how about any camera store?

european 12-19-2012 03:17 PM

I thought so. I have a very hard time making adjustments to my NEF files in order to make them look ideal.
I've been shooting in RAW for many years but now I want to experiment with JPEG since the results seem to look better.

Is your monitor calibrated?

Also, what you see on your LCD is the embedded JPEG file, not the RAW. If you're wanting more accurate colour, start by buying a monitor clibration device like a Spyder Elite. Most LCD screens come from the factory very blue.

Volvoman 12-19-2012 06:25 PM

On the topic of monitor calibration, why would one buy one of them rather than rent one? Wouldn't you just need to use it once to calibrate and you're done?

european 12-19-2012 06:45 PM

I cannot calibrate my monitor. The application fails everytime I try to calibrate the monitor. I don't know why.
My Nikon LCD seems to be much warmer then my laptop. All my raw files seem more blue once loaded onto the computer. I'll look into a calibration device once I get employed. It's going to be a very cold Christmas this year :(

LiquidTurbo 12-19-2012 09:11 PM

cool technique. anyone wanna try?

Ronin 12-19-2012 09:42 PM

FINALLY got Photoshop and Illustrator to update properly. Finally HiDPI-enabled Adobe shit on my screen instead of the pixelated bullshit I've had to look at for months. Geez...if Aperture got updated that quick, Lightroom should've been fast too. It finally got an update that was way easier to install.

You can't rent them due to software licensing issues, and monitors should be calibrated at the very least once a month, as they can shift. CCFL lit monitors should be done every week, but LED monitors not so often.

What are you using to try and calibrate it? Are you using the built in software calibration or a hardware based calibration unit?
