Hm, I'll have to look for the Seaforth's noose. I was distracted by their Vimy cross.
Apparently our Beatty street drill hall's haunted, but only the Sgt./WO's mess. Fuck, it doesn't have to be haunted to scare the crap out of me.

My grandparents' old house was haunted. It's probably over 70 years old now and is located in Vancouver on Commercial St. near Tecumseh Elementary School. My grandmother used to say that when no one was home, she would hear the front door open and slam shut, and hear kids running up the stairs. On gloomy days, she would often see a wide-set Japanese man clad in a kimono walk around the house. The scariest of the incidents happened to my aunt. One night, she woke up to see a figure standing at the end of her bed. She got freaked out and started praying and meditating until it went away. Another night, she woke up to see an ugly man with long hair lying next to her and staring at her. Again, she started praying and meditating. Thinking that her room might be haunted, she asked her brother (my uncle who is a hardcore Christian) to switch rooms with her. After the switch, she woke up one night to the feeling of someone kicking her the end of bed. The next morning, she saw CLEAR marks on at the end of her bed, as though they were made by something hard. She was royally freaked out by that point and finally told my very superstitious grandmother who ended up giving her a charm from the temple. Things were quiet in her room from there. After they moved out, we found out that long before my grandparents moved in, a Japanese man lived there and eventually committed suicide in the house. Had my grandparents known about that, they wouldn't have ventured near the house!
Two stories about my grandmothers: Grandmother #1: My mom's mother.
A little over 2 years ago, my grandmother died after suffering a serious stroke. The morning of her death, my grandfather woke up to use the washroom around 4:30am. When he returned, he saw a figure that resembled my grandmother climb into their bed. Knowing perfectly well that my grandmother was in the hospital, he figured it must have been his eyes playing tricks on him and went back to bed. At around 5am, the hospital called to say that my grandmother had passed. My aunt later told us that during that morning at around 4:30am, she woke up to my little 5 year old cousin's crying and screaming in his sleep. She entered his room and was about to shush him until she heard him cry, "Paw Paw (grandmother in Chinese), don't go!" My aunt woke him up and asked him what the fuss was about, and my little cousin replied that he dreamed about grandma, and she came to say goodbye. So now my family's convinced that my grandmother had passed at 4:30am and not around 5am like the hospital had stated. The last story is about my other grandmother: Dad's mom -
My grandmother passed away from old age just this past Christmas Eve. According to Chinese customs, we are to honour the dead on the 1 week anniversary of their death. It so happened that the 1 week anniversary fell on New Years Eve so neither my brother nor I slept at home that night, only my parents were home. My parents purchased this musical box (like a radio) from a Buddhist temple, which only plays meditations. On the evening of the anniversary, my parents kept the box playing in my grandmother's room until they went to bed, at which point my dad turned it off. The next morning, my mom woke up around 9am to use the washroom and she heard the faint sounds of the meditation box. She asked my dad if he had turned it off and he said yes, so she shrugged it off to her grogginess. When my dad woke up around 10am, he too heard the soft music from the meditation box. Thinking he might have left it on by accident, he went to check but found the machine as he had left it, OFF. Perhaps it was a reassuring sign from grandma??

Normally, when you are in REM sleep, the body becomes cutoff from the brain - a paralysis. However, sleep paralysis occurs when your mind wake up from REM sleep, but your body is still under paralysis, hence, "sleep paralysis".

Here goes with the night of my grandma's spirit-returning night. Not actually a ghost story, but thought I'd share.
Everyone had to sleep in the living room, together. On the couch and on the floor. If we had to take a leak, someone had to accompany you and before we walked into the hallway, we had to toss some cutlery. Yes...forks and knives, to make noise to ward off any 'dirty things' that might be in the way. Around midnight, the dog was barking more than usual...and that freaked me out a bit. We had the dinning table prepared with lots of food and usual offerings for the 'ghost guards' and the next morning, I noticed stuff had been moved around. The dining room was off-limits that night and I'm sure no one dared to walk in there.
Chopstick: Originally set close to each other like ||, next morning...like this /\. Scary huh?
Spoons: Chinese soup spoons, set with the concave side facing ceiling. Next morning, turned upside down. Yes.
Rice: Uncooked rice was scattered around on the table. Originally just in the bowls.
Seat Cushions: Originally tucked right against the back of the seats, but next morning the cushions were set on a angle. Like someone had sat on and got up off of them.
This is all I remember from 18yrs ago and I sh*t you not.

[QUOTE=Physixx;5490050]similar thing actually happened to my friend...and amazingly enough, i think there was some kinda report on it as a sort of psychological thing
i recall hearing about it in the news too, after it happened to my friend in camp, he claimed to have woke up half suffocating, and couldnt move a single muscle
it was eerie too, because we were in a bunk bed at this old camp spot the night it happened..and he said he had apparently tried to scream too, but i didnt hear a thing.
EDIT: F_ck why am i trying to scare myself with the lights off reading this thread at almost midnight lol
Some say that happens too people when they scence a spirit is in the same room!!! Spooky. Happend to my friens mum when i was there she tensed up and her toes curled back futher than humanly possible. She used to get this all the time untill she moved out of that house!

Only ghost story I have is when I was in college, me and some friends went to visit a friend in Victoria in the summer. We were driving around at night, weather was great...no clouds or what not. We started driving by this cemetery called Ross Bay Cemetery, further up the road we see a woman standing in the middle of the road. The rest of us in the car tell the driver to watch out for her so he slows down just a bit but she's just standing there. We drive up to her and we think we hit her....driver slams the breaks down but we never heard anything hit. We look back and see this woman in a white dress start to float up in the air and after a while she just vanishes.
Scared the crap out of me, and the rest of us in the car. I didn't think anyone else had seen that ghost until i looked it up online earlier this week.
