If it's your own restaurant, why would you block your handicapped customers? Just draw yourself a reserved?

Depends if it's a ticket given to you by a company like ImPark/Diamond, or if it's issued by the city.

No. The city will come after you. The city came after me for a 3 year old ticket I got with my ES300. Just pay it. You did the crime, now do the time.

It will if the city hires a collection agency to go after you and you still refuse to pay after a few notices.

I have no experience with Diamond, but the city will get a collection agency after you. They will send you some warning letters to give you a chance to pay in installments or whatever, but if you ignore them, you're going to have a negative credit report.
With Vancouver, if you have more than 5 unpaid parking tickets, they have the authority to come and arrest you. A manager for the Yaletown Brewing Co was led away in handcuffs during the lunch rush because she had unpaid tickets.

with the city: yes they can...cuz they are the govie . ANY OTHER CAR PARKS NO.
Only a few companies have the authority to affect credit reports. Because you signed authority for them to look and change your credit bureau because your borrowing from them. AKA: Credit cards/banks those kinda companies.
Car parking lots: not one of them. They have the ability to tow your ass on any of the lots and make you cough of the cash. Yes. Affect credit: no.
Can you sue them for libel? If the information about you is actually false and damaging, not just a true negative item, you might consider legal action against both the credit bureaux and the company reporting the false damaging information.
In addition, i've seen countless credit bureau's. I know what i'm tlaking bout.
But here this might help: 3rd Page right paragraph. http://www.fcac-acfc.gc.ca/eng/publi...ortScore_e.pdf

I don't understand why when someone gets a parking ticket here on revscene they feel they need to not pay. For the most part, when you recieve a ticket, they don't just randomly give one. There's a reason behind each ticket and the reason you received one was you weren't paying attention to where you were parking, not paying for parking, or just completely ignorant of any signs in the lot. If there's so many big parking companies still in existant and some of you think that you don't need to pay them, then don't you think these companies would just go broke by now? if it's all true that you don't have to pay because of these reasons some of you are giving. then i wouldn't pay for parking ever again nor will i comply with any signs in a private parking lot.

| 33.1? Does this have to do with Kryptonite? LOL anyways...
33.1 (i) (i) A & B:
"A public body may disclose personal information referred to in section 33 inside or outside Canada as follows:
if the disclosure is for the purposes of collecting amounts owing to the government of British Columbia or a public body by an individual, or a corporation of which the individual the information is about is or was a director or office"
So it means anyone who claims people owes you money can get anyone's information? Cause I doubt most of us are directors.

I was a parking enforcement officer for 2 years. As far as Im concerned if your 10 minutes over and its your first time, paying them would almost be like donating to charity. Assuming this is a private company. Just from my experience.
From what I remember, if you accumulate say 3 tickets with the same company they can get info for the purpose of getting a collection agency after you.
