i have an m2, yeah you can live without those two features.

Both features are useful but really not essential. Personally, I'd get a M3...I can't be without a viewfinder.

can anyone suggest a new camera good for travelling? im currently using a canon t1i for travelling etc. but this thing is getting heavy and annoying lugging around. im thinking of going mirrorless since its almost like a dslr with the manual features.

is it still possible to use my canon mount slr lens on mirrorless camera?

Apparently the D500 is the official successor to the D300s. Similar style specs for a crop sensor camera.

Need advice, the screen on my Sony NEX-5R was damaged so I attempted to fix it myself with a replacement from ebay. It pretty much screwed everything up, the screen doesnt slide/move as nicely anymore, the new one isn't stuck to the housing, the housing cracked, I lost a screw and finally the worse part is that the screen itself unplugged while I was closing it. Should I attempt to send this for repairs at sony? or consider it a write off?

I tried to do the same with my Panasonic GF3 when I cracked my screen. M43 camera manufacturers comes out with new models and revisions year after year that old models just depreciate and lose their value. Just write it off and buy another model that will be compatible your old lenses (assuming you have a couple of them for your old camera).

Im looking to get into rangefinders. Anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Im looking at the Voigtlander Bessa R3A (I would like the R3M but they're really hard to find). I understand they only have the 40-50-90 framelines but it works for me because I already have the RF coupled lenses in these focal lengths. The 1:1 viewfinder is also quite attractive.

Should I be even considering this body as my first RF body or should I go with something cheaper like a Minolta CLE (half the price) to start out with? or go in on a Leica from the get-go?

can someone suggest a good pocket camera that can swap lens in the future and can record good video? I need one under 350$ if possible

So I was in a pinch for a camera a few weeks ago, bought the Canon Sx530HS. Thinking about returning and doing more research. Not looking for a dslr, I really do like the point and shoot long zoom.

Things I loved:
50x optical
1080p video
decent price $299
small size
Good image quality

Things I would like:
viewfinder
flip screen (like the sx50hs that cleared out for $200)
newer than digic4+ (just seems like its super old)
more megapixels (because more is better, right? ;))
faster focus and better image quality at full zoom

Any chance you guys have suggestions for what to replace that camera with?
I'm open to other brands but am not familiar with them.

meh, I got myself a used sony nex 5n for 150$ and can attach my older lens with adapters. Pretty awesome for that price so far with touch screen and everything. I am an amateur so I'll get a much better camera in the future when I do some research about shutter and all that jazz...:drunk:

Anyone have a Nikon D610? How's the AF on that thing?

My buddy who is a pro keeps knocking the Nikon AF module that has the 39 focus points, says that I'll notice it over the 51 in my D700 and that low light focusing won't be as good.

I have new born and I want to buy a new camera to take photos and videos of him. Price isn't an issue but I feel DSLR is too complicated for me to use (I just use auto most of the time). Does anyone have any recommendations? One person told me to check out the Sony RX 100 but they have 4 models? lol

Fuji XE2/XT1/XPro2 and 18-55 would be an awesome camera combo.

The Sony RX100 series cameras are fantastic! The current model is the RX100 IV, and the image quality is amazing for such a small camera, thanks to its 1" sensor. I have the RX100 III and it's always with me.

If you want an interchangeable lens camera, then the Fuji XE series is excellent.

Fuji XT10 it has a full auto mode switch.

I let my sister borrow my xt10 when she went to Australia last year and everything she shot was on full auto with the kit lens. I couldn't believe the quality of some of her pictures, they were amazing!

She was recently in the market for a camera for her upcoming child, but the xt10 was a bit out of her budget, so she settled for the a6000 instead. Haven't asked her how she likes it yet compared to the xt10 lol.

I've read some really great things about the a6000. Apparently if you don't really need the 4K it's a great little camera.

Anybody tried the Panasonic GX85? Or is u43 not really a thing on here?

u43 is great, but for the price if you're taking photos imo APSC competitors are a better choice for not much more.

a6000 is great and has been great (just look at the reviews). Personally it's a bit too "auto" for me in terms of buttons and camera layout (hence me going with a Fuji XE2 at the time of my purchase).

tl;dr- you can't really go wrong with any camera (u43/apsc/ff), unless you are requiring a specific niche taken care of (low-light sports, wildlife, etc)
