casio ex z50 vs ex z57

i am thinking of getting a new camera. can't decide which one is better. i will just be using them as point and shot cameras. casio ex z 50 selling at fs for $249 (sale) and the casio ex z57 selling for $349. if anyone use any one of these camera....can you tell me how you will rate it? especially in the dark. THx!!! =0) Casio ex z 50 casio ex z57

no, after looking and hearing about casio and its pictures, there is a lot of noise in its pictures (especially more in low light obviously). also, don't get the camera just because it's cheap. a lot of people regret it and end up returning it when they take a look at the shots taken. maybe they've improved. i can't remember which model(s) i've looked at.

hey guys i wanted to look into getting a sony f717. Was wondering what you thought about this

"-sony f717 digital camera ( used for about 2-3 years, still work perfectly with VERY little scratches. "Quang" on the boards can vouch for this camera)

-(2) memory cards (32mb, the one it comes with. And a 128mb memory card, bought for $120 when it first came out)

-Wide angle lense (nearly brand new, i bought this lense thinking it was a fish eye lense but it wasnt, so i just stop using it)

-Fish eye lense (didnt like the wide angle lense so i HAD to go out and find a fish eye, so i did. lol)

-Sony leather camera bag (black, compact.bought it a little after i bought the camera, still fresh)

-Original Sony box with manuals and all accessories included (i wont be leaving anything out, you will ge the charger, usb cables and the tv input/output cords.

my asking price is $550 shipped in the lower 48 states, but i noticed you are in canada? i can still ship it for you but i may need you to pay extra for shipping."

anyone please? hoping to get something for myself for christmas

Robalong 12-04-2005 09:31 PM

two very different cameras, if you have it in your budget ot spend more in the future then i'd say go with the Canon XT, but when you want to go out and buy lenses and accessories later it'll come out more expensive than the sony f717, which is sorta an all in one type deal, dont have to switch lenses for different applcations. It really depends on yourself. Personally i'd buy the XT cuz its a faster choice cuz i have a few digitals and i can't get over the lag and release on the shutter

GFunk 12-04-2005 10:02 PM

pretty much what i'm looking for is something for me to more openly learn on. I know I could spend ages with the f717 but I'm just wondering if you guys think it'd be worth it to spend a little bit more for an XT

Robalong 12-04-2005 10:04 PM

definitely worth it if you are truely interested in having photography as a hobby, if you just want to do it now cuz everyone else is doing it and dont really want to learn and spend the time with it, then no get a 717 and then sell it in 6 months when u are bored with it. An XT isn't worth the extra money if u are gonna sell it in a year cuz ur bored with it, you prolly wont get back what you paid so you are better off getting something a little less expensive so your losses aren't as big

supra123 12-05-2005 03:31 PM

Konica Minolta and a few others have the anti-shake feature which can be very useful. You can get the Konica Minolta Dimage Z5 at clearance prices now.

This sounds like a smokin' deal. I've talked to Robalong a few times and he's good at getting the product out the door. If you do need a kit lens, like he mentioned, I have one for sale and it's basically an OBO deal. I asked $100 but I'm really open to whatever offers you may have in mind. Just shoot me a pm!

supra123 12-06-2005 09:59 PM

My choices are the following:

Please indicate why....
