Which one would be a good purchase and why ? Canon SD400 5.0 Sony DSC T7 5.1 Casio EXILIM 5.0 or Panasonic Lumix 6.0 |

Because they all take pictures, they're all different and you haven't said a word about what you need in a camera. |

- image quality..for everyday pictures - fast action pictures ie. sports - zooming quality - size/compact/durability - image features - video quality i'll be using this while snowboarding, motorcycle riding, travelling and i want to ensure its overall portability and quality |

Canon SD550 ftw :D |
Hi, I'm looking to get myself a digicam for christmas. I'm looking for a 5MP, slim , point and shoot camera. I'm thinking either a Nikon Coolpix S1 or a Sony DSC-T7. Any input on these cameras, or anything that is better in the same slim P&S camera? Picture Quality is the number one factor of course. |
if picture quality is your number one factor, i wouldn't recommend the Sony T7. btw, what's ftw Ch28? |

1. Pansonic Lumix 6.0 or 2. Canon SD450 5.0 Any help would be appreciated...Thank you in advance.... |
which one would u pic Canon S2 IS or Panasonic FZ-5 my main concern is picture quality i am having problems figuring which one i want... they are about the same but i dont know which would should i buy.. TIA |
PhuQ3R - sounds like the panasonic will do you better cuz of the faster start up time, faster refresh rate between pics, and image stabilization. All very useful for an active person who wont want to miss a shot. (wow that sounded like a sales pitch, i'm good) keitaro - you need to tell us what u need it for? For example, did you want to use it as a movie camera as well? would u actually use the fold out screen? both cameras are good for picture quality, ultimately its a personal preference. Although again with the panasonic the Li Ion batt gives a fast refresh of the flash for shooting, but the menu system on the panasonic is simpler to navigate, one menu vs a menu menu and a func menu man.....i work all day and still talk shop when i'm not there geez i need another beer..... |
^ i did my research for both cameras. Dpreview did a pretty good review on both cameras. What i am looking at in a camera is picture quality. I know the panasonic features a Leica lens, but the fz-5 has a few draw backs. No adapters, u have to buy their batteries. canon has full manual control, aa batteries. so it really comes down to picture quality... |
well since ur between the two I would go and buy an SD card, take pictures with both cameras, the same picture though with the same settings and see which one you like? thats the easiest way to be happy with the picture quality, you cant ask someone's opinion on picture quality cuz they are both GOOD but you will only really understand the differences when you see prints, If you want an opinion then mine is that the color is a little bit better on Canon (but what does that mean?) well the color is better, go take a look and you will see what I mean. But is it a big enough deal to take one over the other? That's your decision, because if one was definitely superior over the other one everyone would buy that one. |
^ yea, i was looking at some sample pics, and they look really similar in quality, its almost hard to tell a difference. but i guess when i go and buy it.. i am going to which camera has a better feel and balance thanks for the input :) |
I got the canon S2 IS, and i am looking on to getting a lens adapter w/ hood. am i able to put a filter on(UV) the adapter? because with the filter i woudnt really need to use the lens cap since it falls off easily and i worried that i will scratch the lens. thanks |
Like supra123, i'm also on the hunt for a 300d now. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks |
Keep your eyes peeled in the for sale forum, maybe post a "Want to buy" thread. |
Canon SD450 or SD550 I was just wondering if there is a big difference between the two cameras to justify the price differences? I just want a nice point and shoot camera and wanted some user input instead of a salesman trying to up upsell me thanks! |
hit up broadway camera... guys are very informative there... um... i have the SD500.. pretty good point and shoot camera... =) I think the big difference is the megapixel war... morem megapixel and bigger lcd screen = MORE MONEY !!!! lol |
sd450 is enough for normal use |
sd450 my guess is you wouldn't use the 7mp unless you plan on printing bigger prints |
450. the 550 is fatter/$100 more and do you really need 7mp over 5mp? put that extra cash towards a 1gig card or something. |
