yeah good thing about Canon toy camears is that,
even if u really dropped it,

u can still sell the dead camera.

(my friend did, for more than $300+ USD)

I used the 350 without the grip for many months, but i finally got it

and i DEFINTELY recommend it!

the grip becomes like a real grip with the BG-E3!

plus u can use that hand strap which helps the grip every better!

I'm goin to Future Shop right now to check the XT out a bit more, last time I played around with one I didnt really notice the small size...

BiggyD 03-30-2006 11:06 AM

which to buy?? canon 10D or Nikon D70s??

I don't know which would be better for me, the 10D or the D70S. I don't really focus on one type of shooting, I am a beginner shooter so I don't know what type of shooting I like yet, but I do really enjoy macro, and nature photography. So a used 10D or a new D70s? I looked at these side by side, and they looked very close in specs to me.

MikesJo 03-30-2006 01:10 PM

If you enjoy macro and natures stuff, the 10D will be more than enough! You can easily use a point and shoot for that stuff :). 10D puts out some awesome pictures and well, so does the D70s. Tough choice. I went canon because I liked their lens line up. I believe they have more to choose from in different price points as compared to Nikon.

Going used gives you more money to spend on lenses :). My 10D is also for sale for a pretty good price if you're looking for one. (small plug)

BiggyD 03-30-2006 01:30 PM

I only have $1000 to spend on a camera (maybe a little more) and I need a body, lens, and memory for that as I don't have anything yet. A new D70s, and a used 10D are about the same price

Bonjour43MA 03-30-2006 01:36 PM

D50

BiggyD 03-30-2006 01:55 PM

Ya the D50 is also a possibility, I think I might just go for the D50...

Bonjour43MA 03-30-2006 02:04 PM

if your budget is 1000 bucks for the body, a lens, and accessories, you can't go wrong with a new D50.

or even Mike's used 10D + lens would be good too.

if you plan on shooting a lot of low-light, high-ISO stuff, I'd suugesst you go for a Canon because as of now, their cameras still have less noise than any of the Nikon SLRs, excpet for the D50 :-p And like Mike said, a stronger lens lineup for you to choose from...
I don't know how many times I'd wished that Nikon had something like the 17-40L or the 70-200 f4L... damn you Nikon, forcing people to buy either consumer grade lenses or jump straight to the pro stuff.

drat.

but... Marco... nature.. .landscape..... sounds more like Nikon's forte.

Tough choice.

BiggyD 03-30-2006 03:30 PM

well, unless Mike can deliver it to Saltspring Island, I don't think I will be grabbing it, Thanx for all the help Bonjour43MA, I will grab a D50.

Any thoughts on this camera? I got shaky hands so the optical shake feature is perfect for me...

hey guys

I want something thats really small so I could carry with me most of the time, but also have some more pro features, so I can do those exposure shots and etc.

how is the canon s80?? anything else u would recommend that's slim??

Senna4ever 04-05-2006 11:49 PM

The S80 is not very slim.

Type V 04-06-2006 12:58 AM

if ur a canon fan and you want slim and easy use, go with the canon sd450.

moved.

Rikaro 04-06-2006 01:17 AM

don't think the a530 comes with any batteries or charger. So you'll end up spending more. If you're looking for something cheap go check out a Nikon L2, L3, and L4 series. They have pretty decent picture quality. The sd450 priced a bit higher and uses lit-ion batteries. I'm a Canon guy but those sd 450's are a little overrated IMO.

dub.dub 04-06-2006 02:01 AM

^ they had a sale on those things for $349 i remember

H0NEY 04-08-2006 07:02 PM

Which Canon is better, the A610 or the sd450 ?

dub.dub 04-08-2006 07:10 PM

SD450 for the compactness
A610 for the manual features

H0NEY 04-13-2006 01:54 AM

What are your imputs on The Canon Powershot, SD600, SD450 and SD400 ? Which one do you think is the best outta the three ? What are the difference between them ? and lastly, if you had purchase outta the three, which one would it be ?

mako 04-13-2006 04:28 PM

Canon Powershot SD450

Does anybody own this camera or have used it before? How does this camera rate?

CLICK HERE for a side by side comparison of the 3 cameras

the SD600 is the one I would buy out of the 3, it takes bigger pictures, have a bigger/better LCD screen, better movie quality, and has higer ISO capabilities

dub.dub 04-13-2006 04:51 PM

I have the Canon SD450 and am liking it. Because I have a DSLR to use, I wasn't looking for a point and shoot with a lot of manual features. If you don't mind the 2.0" LCD screen, I would have get the SD400 over the SD450 as prices should be pretty low now for the SD400s. The features are all the same. I don't think a SD600 is necessary for the extra $.

mako 04-13-2006 05:03 PM

thanks for the help guys ..

actually a little late for me to pick and choose, my friend down in the states already ordered me the sd450. i think its gonna cost me under 300 cdn

dub.dub 04-13-2006 06:53 PM

Oh, that's a very good deal.
Where'd he get it?

mako 04-13-2006 09:32 PM

not sure .. think he ordered it from someplace online
