| PowerShot SD700 or Nikon P4
If you were to choose, which is better? The SD700 or Nikon P4..?
I'm looking for the best compact digital camera... Any other suggestions other than the sd700 or P4?

I think everyone should just get a Canon 1Dsmk2 and we wouldn't have this problem of "what camera is better then the other" .. GROUP BUY!!

The FX01 has a 28mm equivalent wide angle, and has Leica optics. This is the best compact for my needs. Your milage may vary.

Heh heh, I know, those D2-series are so damn nice.
I'm hoping the D3H and the D3X will be 2 knockout punches for Nikon to get back to the top of the game...
If you think abot it, the D2X is really a STEAL when compared to Canon's 1D series eh? Sure the 1Ds is 16MP and FF, but it's also the same price as a mini car.
MMmmm need more money....
You can acutally find an used D2X for about $3500 bucks, I think.

I got the SD700... Pretty good for a P&S... Pictures are pretty clear... One question though.... What is the reason behind white spots when you take pictures in low or no light indoors (You can see them in picture mode, not when taking pictures) and how can u get rid of that? The spots are located on different locations all the time

^^^Are you talking about hot pixels? The spots don't appear in the photos, do they? If not, they're harmless. There should be a note in the manual about them.

pentax S6..about $300 does everything except for the no lag (every compact has a bit of a lag, unless u half-press down the shutter before u want to take a pic)

Hello
I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding a purchase on the Sony T30.
It's the brand new digital camera that came out this year.
Just wondering what the feedback on this camera was like.
Thanks a bunch.

| which digicam to get?
I currently own a Sony T33 and I am planning on selling it and get a better one. I need some suggestions on which camera to buy.
I'm currently looking at the Canon SD630 and the Nikon S6. My budget will be around $500 or less (hopefully). Suggestions doesn't have to be from between these two cameras. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=12956 http://nikon.ca/products/coolpixs6/
What I'm looking for... Fast shutter speeds at least the speed of my T33. I had a Canon SD10 before that and it was unbelievably slow. Long exposure (I miss that from my SD10)... the usual macro, rapid burst etc etc functions. It has to be compact/slim and have a big lcd screen. Definately has to have manual focus ability. If I can't find a camera with manual focus, I'm not even going to bother selling my T33.
Overall, I like all the functions from the Canon SD10, just not the speed. The salesman assured me the SD630 is fast. Is there any digicam out there with similar functions to the Canons but better in speed or quality?

sorry, I should take a moment to mention that was me, not Jamie/fr0st...stupid logged in computers.
But seriously, I don't care if it sounded harsh, we've had this influx of people to the forum that miss this GIANT thread clearly labeling what the procedure is. Can we maybe sticky it?
