OK count me in the for group buy on the D70S! Im interested in the body only tho.
And i agree...the updated firmware and the .2" larger LCD is not worth $150 more. Also an optional cable release can be purchased for the S. But i rather buy a 1GB memory card for $150 and skip all these peanut features.

Ok what do u guys think?
Sony DSC-T7
or
Canon SD400?
My requirements:
-slim/compact size
-best image quality (from the smallest package possible)
-some manual features (white balance, exposure, iso, etc.)
I love the looks of the DSC-T7 but I also love the looks/size of the SD400. With prices out of the equation which is the better camera in terms of image quality?

You can ask almost anyone on the Photo forum here and they will tell you the Canon SD400 especially since it has the Digic II processor as well.
The image quality from the Sony T7... let's just say, it isn't great. The only thing it offers, as a lot of people like and wouldn't mind sacrificing other qualities, is its slimness and 2.5" LCD screen.
Canon is your pick. And cheaper memory card as well!

buy the 350d without the kit lens and buy the kit lens here: http://www.revscene.net/forums/showt...hreadid=301343
or buy the camera and the kit lense here: http://www.revscene.net/forums/showt...hreadid=307667

Also, I am planning to ask my friend to buy me the camera in HK. Where should he go for a reputable seller?
Thnks for any inputs~) |

SD400 will be plenty for everyday shooting. That high of a pixel rating doesn't mean much once you're looking at digital pictures on a computer only.

re: d50 vs canon 350d
if you're stuck on deciding which one of them is better on paper, go to the camera store and play w/ them. for me the d50 was the clear choice over the 350d. the 350d felt like a toy in my hands and i only have average sized hands! it was a size or two too small and didnt feel as solid as even the 300d.

Yeah, D70 is definitely a good choice too. I played with my friend's D70 and I like it. (too bad I bought canon already).
between D70 and Xt, I would pick D70.
between D70 and 20D.... uh.... i don't know....

Yeah, totally different.
If you were to place things in order, probably be something like: 20D>D70s>D70>350D, D50

if you can find one, the d70 is about the same price if not cheaper than the 350d.. w/ a far superior kit lens...
