I'm aware of that.. was just a thought since it should fit between the s95 and the m4/3s in terms of IQ, and it's a much more portable option than the ones he's listed.
I guess it would be nice to know what he's (djm) taking pictures of while travelling? If there's going to be a lot of low light I'd get the XSi, but if it's 95% in the sun then I don't see the issue with going with a fixed-lens solution or m4/3s, as they're much more travel friendly and he won't be buying lenses (or so he says) ever.
personally, I don't really like the feel of the A230. I find the hand grip too angular, and not comfortable to hold. In terms of the UI - that's a really personal thing. Sony has always been different, but some people really do like it. I think the A230 is a little dumbed down - but it helps with beginners first learning about photography. I had the XS before, and it's a great little camera.
When I used an a200 back in the day it was very user friendly to me. I could figure out how to trigger wireless flash the first day I got it. To this day I still don't understand how to do it on my 7D + 580 EXII
Hey guys, can I get your opinion for a new camera? I'm looking for a camera with extended zoom lens, but with point & shoot capability (not ready for DSLR!). The two main cameras I'm considering are the Canon SX20is and the SX30is.
SX20is - smaller, uses AA batteries (I prefer over lithium), cheaper
SX30is - higher MP, even more zoom (35 vs 20x), better wide angle, larger screen
I've also looked at the Fuji S1800, but it looks real cheap in comparison to the Canons...what are your thoughts? Is $329 for the sx20is and $399 for the sx30is considered reasonable prices?
edit: how about the Sony HX1? I see FS has it for $299 on boxing day
Looking for a cheap waterproof P&S for taking pics when I'm snorkeling in Hawaii. Any recommendations? Otherwise, I'm just going to get the cheapest one I can find.

I had some girl come into the busser station the other day trying to make out with every staff member and then pull down her pants and asked for someone to stick a dick in her (at least she shaved).

^Wonderful, I still love my G7 after many many years LOL :')
A little on the bulky side, I'm curious as to how the S90/95 are myself, I've never had a hands on with them but heard good things about that series, and I like their form factor a lot better
I think the G series is great. Pictures come out really nice, and offer RAW shooting for touching them up in post-processing as well. It has been a great and appreciated companion to my 50D.
Like tofu said it is bulky, but man does it feel sturdy. Dropped it a few times on concrete and only small cosmetic damage was the result. The S90/95 are also the same guts as the G10-G12 essentially in a smaller form factor, but I do like the dials and control on the G series.
Thanks for the replies guys! Hmmm, now I don't know, G12 or S95... I'm new to photography and like my friends G series camera. But if the S95 does pretty much almost the same... ahh, tough decision, lol!
