The D7000 records 20minute video clips. WHy is there that limit? Will I be stressing the sensor if I record a few 20minute clip back to back?

They're taxed differently, apparently. Then there was the fear that the sensor would overheat too.

The Zeiss Ikon is nice, but the Bessa's shutter is so loud. The M6 is so smooth and quiet with its fully mechanical shutter and buttery controls. I looked into buying all of the models you are looking at, and I went and spent the $7000 on the titanium M6 with titanium 35mm f1.4 Summilux just because it felt better in my hands - and it is fully mechanical, as the battery only powers the light meter. You can find a nice condition used M6 for about $1500 I think, about the same for a new Zeiss Ikon.

senna
do you know where I can find used M6 or a Zeiss Ikon locally?
it seems like not many people shoot rangefinders in the lower mainland or maybe I just don't know where to look

I have never seen a Zeiss Ikon used, but Leo's or Kerrisdale Camera might have some older Leicas. Your best bet might be the Vancouver Camera Swap Meet on the last Sunday in April. http://www.whistlerinns.com/camerashow/
Here's mine:

^^^ I think he's looking for the second one - the new rangefinder, not the first or third Ikons, which are the old 1950's type non-interchangeable lens Ikons.

I know this doesn't belong here but I did not want to start a new thread.
Do you guys think this would be fitting for my 580ex ii? I want to try some off camera strobes. http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bn...205415091.html
Edit: Sorry about that.

Hey guys, I'd like some advice. I am looking for a pretty much basic point and shoot camera, or a not too complicated camera. I've had a panasonic lumix zs7 and the quality of the pictures were good but it was stolen from me. I am looking to find a new camera, I was looking at the sony nex 5 or nex 3. How complicated are these cameras? I know they are really expensive but i recently started to really appreciate taking pictures and my cellphone isn't cutting it anymore. Any advice would be wonderful, Thanks a lot.

Due to the large sensor, the camera can end up being bulky depending on the lens. I wonder if a higher end compact like the Panasonic LX5 is a better choice for you? It is very customizable but also can be used in basic modes. You will have the option to shoot RAW for optimal image quality. Other cameras like the LX5 are the Canon G12, Canon S95, Nikon P7000. Slightly larger and with image quality thaT rivals the Sony NEX system would be the Panasonic & Olympus Micro 4/3 cameras like the Panasonic GF2.

An important question to ask is, what kind of things do you photograph?

I think the S95 is a more user friendly camera though and the size/shape is very nice. They are noticeably cheaper than the nex and IMO is better to carry around. I'm not a fan of the NEX user interface or any sony point and shoot for that matter. Lens choice is not great for the NEX but than again when compared to P&S...

I think Sony just released their specifications to Lens Manufacturers, so I'd expect to see more 3rd party lenses for the NEX cameras.

I think Sigma & Schneider have both committed to making NEX lenses. Should be interesting.

okay we'll im putting buying my own camera on hold. I am looking one for my mom and another for my girlfriend.
For my girlfriend, she wants a purple camera
I was looking at the Sony T110 and the Sony cybershot wx9 because they both come in purple. What do you think of these cameras? Are there any other purple cameras you would recommend? Price Range is about $300
And for my mom.
She has told me she saw a commercial for a Panasonic Lumix with a built in photo editor in the camera, you guys have any idea on what camera this is? Im basically looking for a good point and shoot camera for her, just needs to be kinda slim. Let me know what you prefer, Thanks a lot Revscene

Seriously, I think I've seen some Canon P&S models came in purple too, as well as some Panasonic ones, I think.
Not sure which specific model your mom was talking about, but some P&S models do have in-camera editing now, like some of the new Sony's.

^get a good deal on a t2i, 60D has a clear advantage which is the handy top screen and the best feeling in terms of sturdiness, also better viewfinder, but in terms of overall picture quality they will all be pretty similar so I would recommend the cheapest t2i
that being said, if you want to do video the tilt screen is pretty good
