BB has the Olympus tg-320 for $139.99
Newegg has the Olympus 8010 for $139.99

Yup, just got my 5DmkIII too. Canon Canada CPS gave me a deal too good to resist. Too bad Nikon Canada NPS doesn't give employee discounts, I would have preferred a D800 in some ways.

jpegs coming out of the 5D3 are...pooh. however, i never shoot in jpeg mode. i've been reading about this and sure enough, the camera does some smoothing over when it shoots in jpeg, and i think this bird i shot is a pretty good example;

now, the RAW files, whoa! excellent!

need to test the AF tracking more. some weather would help.

lastly, i see Lightroom 3.x doesn't support this camera...

I was thinking about getting a D7000 body, but after some research, I've found that people say the D5100 has pretty much the same photo quality. I'll only be doing still photos.

Should I go for the D5100 in this case, to save some money? Or are there bells and whistles of the D7000 that will make it more worthwhile?

I currently have Sony A900 with 2470Z.
Can't decide if I should sell them and move to Canon 5D mk2 or mk3.
The only thing i don't like about the sony is that the lens are not weather sealed like Canon L. Suggestion? I normally shoot portrait and landscapes so i'm not sure if the MK3 improved AF would be beneficial to me

The Sony CZ lens is way sharper than Canon's 24-70, however, the new 24-70L II should be much improved over Canon's old one. If you're happy with the Sony, and if landscapes is what you primarily shoot, keep it - the IQ is better than the 5DmkII under 400 ISO.

One thing that I find is really helpful with landscapes is manual focusing in live view, which the A900 does not have. It might be worth it to switch just for live view.

Any reason why you didn't mention the Nikon D800?

Have a look at the new Olympus OM-D. It's quite impressive.

The D7000 has a nicer rear LCD.

Sony NEX series, Panasonic GF series, Panasonic G series, Olympus PEN series

I think the problem with those Nikon cameras is that there aren't as much choice of lens compared to the cameras I mentioned above.

Olympus PEN's IQ isn't very good. The OM-D is much better.

The Olympus OM-D is good, but it's out of my price range. The ones jcmaz listed are probably the one's I'll be looking at. Which one would you pick out of the ones he mentioned Senna?

NEX for best IQ, but I'm not really a fan of the NEX because due to the APS-C sensor, the lenses have to be quite big. This makes the camera a little clunky to use, but that's just me. The Olympus PEN is nice and compact, but its JPEG engine and RAW files leave a lot to be desired. I tested a pre-production model last year and that's the impression I got, but maybe they have improved it since then. My personal recommendation to you would be one of the Panasonics, but you'll have to go and handle them in store to see which one best suits your needs.

would u get a gx1 or the ep3? the 20mm is now in stock @ BH so i might pull the trigger on a m4/3 system. wait now u all know it's in stock ....

at first i wanted a gx1 + their PZ pancake... but it's such a mediocre lens so i constantly go back and forth and scrap the idea. the whole point of this system is portability. anything that sticks out won't do it for me. is the IQ on the ep3 that bad? i do like how it has stabilization.

I would go for the GX1 and a OIS lens. From my previous experience, if you're going to make big prints (11x14+) with your files, I would avoid the Olympus. BUT things may have changed since my test, so you should try them out for yourself.

So the T2i is the 550D. There is also a 600D and now a 650D. I'll check them all out... I need video capabilities, so I will need to switch from the 350D body.
