on the other hand i've been hitting up surrey's pho tam. the noodles are are kinda chewy.....so fucking good ! the soup is perfect! and the meat is bountiful!!! godbless that place |
Pho Thai Son is not what it used to be. I don't go there anymore. Pho in Surrey? As good as you make it seem, I would not go anywhere over the Patullo or Port Mann Bridge for pho. :lol Here in Toronto, on the other hand, a few minutes away from my hotel at Spadina and Dundas is Pho 88 which is pretty good. Their "house special" is nothing like what we get in Vancouver. It's missing a tonne of the meats but damn, the noodles are perfect and the soup is wicked, however loaded with MSG galore. :p |
^ You'd be suprised at how good surrey pho is, lol if your willing to try pho in texas, and toronto and crap give surrey pho a try pho tam by surrey central and pho tau bay also in surrey their better then half of vancouvers pho places |
I had pho everyday for about 5 days in paris 2 weeks ago. I lived near the Chinatown (which is really more cambodian/laos/burma influence). The pho broth i had there was very clear - kinda like Pho Tam in surrey where you taste only one clear flavor instead of a mumbo jumbo of spice flavors. I had heard and read from many that Paris pho is the best in the world as the viet/burma/cambodia ppl fled here during the civil wars and learned to cook Pho in French ways but I could not appreciate anything noticeably French about the Pho. Here is a picture though: http://dafoozeking2.googlepages.com/PhoinParis.JPG |
Nothing to do with Pho, but I just ate some french bread with pâté on it from Ba Le. Fucking yums! |
pho tam by surrey central |
Went to Le Do on Hastings today and thought it was pretty good. Spring rolls were delicious and service was good. The younger waitress girl was pretty cute but I was kinda thrown off because she had dark tanned skin and looked like a Brazilian girl or something haha. Good thing I went right before noon because the place started to get packed around 12:15-12:30 |

^What the fuck is up with your avatar? I think the Pho Hong he's talking about is the one in Burnaby right in front of Wedy's and beside the Chrysler dealership. That place is shit. Seriously. It's fucking terrible. |
You like Hello Kitty better? :) Okay I know which one you're talking about. It's expensive, the interior is drab but the girls who work there can be pretty hot. |
I can't really wack it to either picture, so I'm indifferent. It's just that...I didn't expect it, lol. |
so i went to pho tam again...ordered a #8 large holy fuck... so much meat!!! then i went to newtown bakery and then ate 2 baos after. lol... i'm a monster |
