Optometrist Clinic any places you guys recommend with good prices, good deal, etc etc? My current one, which is located on top of T&T near stadium station is pretty expensive and wanted to change to a better location. Suggestions? |
i work at one, but people would probably consider it to be a bit pricey too. for a new patient who's between the age of 19-64 prices range from various clinics anywhere from 70 to about 110. |
Optometrist - Eye Exam Just wondering where people get their eye exam at? I need one soon and called one place, but they want me to dish out $90... college student here too and I don't think I'm covered, because I'm over 19. Anyone know a place, that might be a bit cheaper? |
so then older patients get a cheaper rate? the place I called now wants $90... |
My friend has his own Optometry clinic on West Broadway near Main Street. Give Mount Pleasant Optometry a ring and ask them how much their rates are. I believe his rate is $75 but may be cheaper; either way he'll likely try to help you out. Just ask to see Kevin! |

whats the number to the mount pleasant place |
There are free eye clinics every so often. I know I usually check through Surreys city hall/parks and recreation office. |
i go to the guy at Landsowne Mall, Francis Cheng. I think it's about $50. He's good and thorough and explains everything. |

Is the guy's last name Chow? Forgot how much mine was last year, but compared to other places, it's roughly the base price for eye exam, give or take $5~ But his frames +lens aren't cheap, I'll tell you that. |

i was just walkin around lansdowne and just walked into iris and asked them how much an eye exam was and they said 95 freakin dollars! i was totally shocked. |
95 sounds right for a first time patient with the dilation, if you opt for no dilation though it's somewhere around 70-75 |
the building where t&t is in richmond, the other side of the mall, theres a tiny place beside the glasses store, they only charge $75 for a full exam, not sure if they are still accepting new patiences through, try |
you guys know anywhere in vancouver that's cheaper.. around $70-75 tia |
I go to Dr. Danielson, an optometrist at Lougheed Mall beside Lenscrafters. He has a professional demeanor and answers any questions I have. I think he charges around $70, although I get mine free because I'm almost blind. If you're an adult and have a prescription worse than -8.00 in each eye, the government pays for your annual eye exams. |

Sears Metrotown also does eye exams on Sundays and Wednesdays. I was quoted $70 for the exam when I called a couple weeks ago. |

Time for a new prescription. Need a great optometrist. Any recommendations? |
I'm interested in an eye exam and getting prescription numbers (for glasses and contacts) as well. I've had some bad experiences asking for these numbers before, even when I paid for this exam. How about one who's not associated with or in a eyeglasses retail store? |
off-topic but does anyone know why eye exams are not covered by MSP? like it's given that dental treatment was never covered but for some reason eye exams are covered for anyone under 19. |
Don't quote me on it but I think they were covered by MSP at one time, but that was about 10+ years ago. I suppose it was done to cut costs. I do know depending on certain extended health plans that that they do cover eye exams. |
