Yea...it was really old.... haha |
supposed to be an announcement later this month. shhhhhhhhhhhh you didn't hear it from me. lol |
Then I just may stay will Telus for a month or two to see what will be offered. I was going to switch to Fido this month. I am tired of the CDMA phones. The latest CDMA phones / features are already old news to GSM. And to be able to use unlocked phone and SIM cards wow. Sorry if this is boring to Roger/Fido users but I have been with Telus/ BCTel for 15 years. And with number portablility, which is a big deal to me as my cell phone is my main phone, it was time to switch. Now I may not have too. :) |
interesting.. so will exisiting customers be asked to switch over to GSM? |
I just had a terrifying vision... Telus-branded iPhones. |
that may soon be the case |
I like it... more competition = lower prices!! :D |
oh sweeeet my 3 yr rogers contract ends sometime in feb i think and i am absolutely sick of rogers customer service..a big F U to rogers |
Yep, I am holding tight as well.... Just finishing up a Telus contract, and was going to jump to GSM, but I'll wait a bit..... |
i can't wait. telus has the unlimited $30 data plan. say no to monopoly |
keep in mind, though, that Telus might be adding GSM "support" - meaning they'll have a working GSM network alongside their existing CDMA network, so that when international visitors come here, Telus will at least get a share of that roaming revenue. We probably won't see a TRUE GSM network from Telus until LTE (4G) comes out in a couple of years... but we'll get GSM "support" before the Olympics, I'm sure. |
Good call on that one. Most likely that's what will happen first. |
I also doubt that Telus will allow non telus branded gsm phones on their network |

I hope that I can grandfather my $15 unlimited data plan long enough until Telus goes GSM and use that for whatever phone I want and go crazy on it! lol |
look at what Telus is recruiting here... http://www.workopolis.com/work.aspx?...S=true&OldUrl= hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "UMTS"? "LTE"? "Migration"? HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? lol |

I'm sure that theyre well aware of the phone swap capabilities that people have with GSM. If theyre going to have GSM support, think of all the customers they'd lose if they didnt allow non telus branded phones. Hell I'd possibly jump to telus GSM since their plans blow rogers out of the water |
As far as I am concered it is a little late to switch to GSM. I have put up with their phone choices for 13 years, always being 2 steps behind GSM. I will be switching to FIDO this week. |
Well, I hope when Telus implements GSM within their network, they will have their own cell towers, and not use Rogers as I have shitty reception with them in my area. |

I pray for Telus GSM. I love their plans, I hate their phones. |
The reason I left Telus was their piss poor phones. also, TROGDOR!!!! |
So why is Telus still pushing out new plans and promotions? My mom just received a flyer at aberdeen and the plan looks very good. she gets more minutes plus a new phone, 3 yr contract. but she just received a letter from telus saying that they'll be switching to digital device (sth like that), and that my mom would need to make the change. |
Geez I'll jump to Telus as it'll mean that I'll have some sort of zany TELUS TV, ADSL, and mobile deal that I'll trogdorize out of their retentions/enticement department lol I still have my dad's old Telus CDMA phone...haha |
