Pain and Gain 7.5/10

Went in with no expectations and roughly knew what it was about. Was pleasantly surprised and thought it was pretty hilarious.

yeah pain and gain slow mo action was shit cause of michael bay. somehow I did enjoy the rock, i thought his character was great and he did a pretty decent job playing like 8 different personality on himself.

I actually thought it was probably his strongest performance! Usually he's quite terrible in movies, IMO

Wolverine 5/10. Would have given it lower but I can't let all the bads blind me from the good. I did have a few times where I was leaning forward off of the seat. Any time a movie makes me do that obviously it had to be doing something right. I just found the acting to be pretty poor all around. Bad dialogue as well. Super corny and so many cringe worthy moments.

X-men First Class was so fucking good though.

Elysium - 7/10.

Very meh. Could've been so much better but everything just felt disjointed.

RED 2 - 9.5/10

Honestly, I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about this movie. Characters - brilliant. Casting - brilliant (as it was in the first). Action, humor, hot ass-kickin' babes...

^^never heard about the film, thanks!

Drug War 8/10 finally got around to watching it, the ending was a bit weak for me but i guess they were going for realism so with that consideration it was pretty good

Rampart 6.5/10 good flick could have been great but missed the finesse/cohesion, great cast and Woody Harrelson was good

drug war had to be based in china; cuase it's the only way for people to "really wanting to confess" caues of the death sentence.

since it's set in china and to embrace the chinese market, they can't have someone still only getting regular jail time.

remember Internal affairs, they had to have an alternative ending where one where Andy Lau walks versus China's version = he gets arrested.

I was expecting a brilliant plan to be hatched so he could get away or something like the usual suspects where he also gets away

but the way it ended was still good

Ghost in the Shell (original 90's copy) - 9/10
and
Ghost in the Shell: Innocence - 7/10

I've always loved the series, though I haven't had a chance to watch them in years. I tried to watch the 2008 remaster of the original, but found the mix of modern CG and original cel drawings too distracting. They made no effort to blend the two together and simply jump from one scene of new CG to another scene of '90's cel drawing. Ended up saying fuck it about a third of the way in and brought out the original copy. Was much better.

Now onto the Stand Alone Complex!

Kick Ass 2 6/10.
Really a letdown after a great first movie. This had the weakest storyline ever,
especially since the comic is so awesome.

Now You See Me 4/10

Poor attempt at a new "Oceans 11" franchise and a poor attempt at making magic "cool"

Star Trek Into Darkness 8/10

Fun action sci fi movie. I am usually not one for "special fx" but this movie was beautiful. The white/red theme on the bridge was gorgeous. A bit too much lens flare though I gotta say
