All is lost - 1/10

...This movie is about a rich old man who decides to go sailing into the open ocean (BY HIMSELF), lo and behold his boat suffers damage and now he has to survive. Prepare yourself as you'll be watching an awkward, geriatric Robert Redford shakily move from bow to stern.

I think this is an allegory about senior drivers, getting into accidents, miraculously surviving, and getting the chance to get behind the wheel again.

Grown Ups

7/10

Didn't know Salma Hayek is pretty bangin' for her age

the white storm (new chinese movie out of DVD). 7/10
the story line was decent with a twist but DAMNNNNNNN bad pacing and editing made it really boring at parts.

3 of the actors pull off some good scenes which was great but overall, i couldn't give it more than a 7

About Time. 7/10

British chick flick with Rachel McAdams (and Robbie Margot, of Wolf of Wall Street fame). I'm a sucker for British "comedy" and fiancee wanted to check it out so I obliged.

First half was pretty funny (dorky funny, I'd classify it as). Second half was basically where conflict and everything bad was introduced, so it felt long. It got pretty dusty in a few parts in the second half though.

Lego Movie 8/10

Knew what was going to happen from the very beginning. Theater had too many kids whining and talking for me to enjoy it :okay:

-lincolnboi- 02-08-2014 08:50 PM

Thor 2
8/10

JACKED 02-08-2014 11:42 PM

Nebraska - 8.6/10

just finished HG Catching Fire - 4/10. I was bored out of my mind. Maybe if I saw it in theaters I would be able to concentrate better.

watched it last week...took almost to the end of the movie to arrive at the message of the story...but I thoroughly enjoyed it because for the days to follow it gets you thinking what you'd redo in life :alone:

lego movie 9/10 action scenes were dope. i thought the fast pace was done very well. it wasn't like watching poor music videos with a million cut takes.

identity thief 7/10 decent with good moments but felt like it could have been way way better. helps if you like melissa mccarthy, which i do.

man with the iron fists 7/10 about what you'd expect from a tarantino kung fu movie. over the top gory violence. helps if you like kung fu movies imo.

lone survivor 8/10 very standard army flick but done well. hard not to love and respect the crazy that is special forces.

m3thods 02-09-2014 10:27 AM

The Lone Survivor- 7.5/10. Great action. I haven't read the book so I can't verify what's "true to life" and what not. But some of the things that they had to do to avoid getting cornered by the Taliban. Holy shit I definitely would've been killed in the first 2 mins of gun-fighting lol

Gravity- 7/10. Over-hyped, though I was thoroughly impressed with the "filiming". Movie was beautifully filmed, imo.
