Guardians of the Galaxy

9/10

The main villain was underdeveloped (AGAIN)and the action was mostly cliche and standard but everything else about the film (and is the main focus) was spot on perfect!

The Cabin in the Woods - 8/10

I'm normally not a fan of horror movies (more often than not they're nothing but one giant cliche) but this one was done in such a perfect self-aware manner that I couldn't help but love it.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 9.5/10

Watching this movie made me feel like a kid again.

It's like they took the original Star Wars trilogy, the Indiana Jones movies and Spaceballs and blended it into a delicious shake.

Perfect summer movie. I took half a point cuz some of the jokes were too in your face but not an annoying amount.

I thought it was great. I hope the premise wasn't spoiled for you! It wasn't for me, and it was really cool to watch.

lego movie 8.5/10

wow i don't think ive laughed this hard at a kid's film
the animation and attention to detail is on a next level...I probably have to rewatch it a few times to catch everything. I didn't grow up with legos but it exceeded my expectations by a lot...shouldn't have judged it by its trailer

I feel like Wreck-it-Ralph has set the bar for animated film pretty high and this pushing it even further

Captain America 2: 6/10

It was a fine action flick

I hope Guardians is better... People raved about Captain America 2 as much as that (IIRC), and it wasn't spectacular.

Fuck me, watched Need for Speed the other night... I mean, I knew it was going to be bad... but it gives new meaning to awful. It makes F&F seem like a detailed automotive documentary by comparison.

So. Many. Ridiculous. Plot situations.

1/10 because I can't give Jessie a 0

Guardians.
Coming from reading the comics, I was expecting 7ish.
Much better than expected.

9/10

Agree with the others, villains were under-developed, but if that's the cost of walking out of the theater in love with 5 new "good guys", I'll take it.
Definitely in my MCU top 3.

Chef
10/10
Favreau does such an amazing job of capturing the bullshit that comes along with being a chef, as well as the awesome stuff. I'm sure I was more excited about it than most due to it being so easy to relate to the story for me, but man I thought it was well done. Crazy star studded cast too.

ENEMY 7/10
kinda artsy, very dark and eerie throughout. psychological thriller. filmed in toronto.
worth checking out if you like slower movies

PAPRIKA 7/10
anime. inception was inspired by this film. has very nice animation and explores dream worlds. ending kinda disappointing.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 8/10
'nuff said... it did feel a bit rushed. but like all marvel movies, they never go into depth about anything.

THE 5TH ELEMENT 8.5/10
oldie, but goodie. awesome cyberpunk scifi kinda like a die hard in the future. very cool characters and sets.

EYES WIDE SHUT 8/10
if you like stanley kubrick stuff, well... 'nuff said.

THE WATCHMEN (ultimate edition) 8/10
very long, slow, dark. the ultimate edition or whatever has these comic cartoon episodes within the movie. The most interesting character is dr manhattan. i liked the movie cuz it shows the true gritty side of humanity. what it means to be human. and what it is to lose your humanity.

UNDER THE SKIN 6.5/10
Scarlett gets completely naked. woot. movie is super art house. super dark. super slow. super ambiguous. not for everyone. imagine "species" but remove all the hollywood, and replace it with super art house. not for everyone. interesting though.

NOAH 6.7/10
better than expected. i liked some of the art direction in it, and some of the scenes were powerful. it wasn't as christian as i thought.

MALEFICENT 6.5/10
bring a chick to watch this. too much lovey dovey shit, and not enough evil. Didn't like the twist of trying to make her look good. It was a lot less epic than I thought.

TRANSFORMERS 4 100/10
if you love in your face advertisements stitched together with repetitive fighting scenes and chinese propoganda. go for it. i bought beats speakers and applied to be a chinese national right after the movie.
