Gave it a 1 because the 5 minutes of HK footage was pretty cool to watch. The oblivious old ladies blocking the path was so accurate :lawl:

The rest of it was absolute trash. I had to turn down the volume twice, it was just so noisy for so long it got fatiguing. Product placement really bothers me in movies, but in this one it was disgusting to the point of being insulting. Even worse was the insertion of political propaganda that had nothing to do with the movie. Couldn't they just put that in the mainland version, and leave it out for the rest of the world?

What a god damn piece of shit horrible movie. I feel sorry for anyone who enjoyed it.

Edit: 4

Couldnt agree with you anymore! After what felt like 2hours of dozing off, playing on my phone, doing work while playing the movie, i checked the time and it was only half way through!!

And yea product placement was everywhere! Whats the first thing Marky mark does when he crashes back onto earth?

Not a foreign film buff but this was one of the best films I've ever seen. Working in VFX I get tired of seeing explosions, CGI and shitty acting in general. I found myself enjoying the plot, dialogue and casting so much that I literally didn't want the movie to end. Puts a good smile on your face and Ludovico Einaudi does a lot of the score. It's based on a true story as well so it leaves you with that corny warm feeling inside too :awesom:

Chef 8/10, best food porn I've seen in a long time.

Afflicted 8/10, in the trailer it makes the movie look like a full on horror movie but its not. I don't want to spoil anything. But once you see it, you will realize the originality of the film. Its a good movie.

22 jump street

7/10

too long, not as much funny moments compared to the 1st one, still some funny moments but not enough . 2 hour movie jesus christ.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: 9/10

This was a surprisingly good movie. Finally got around to watching it on Netflix tonight and I can't believe I held off for so long. I was hesitant at first because I was worried it was just going to be yet another bad Hollywood knockoff, but those fears were unfounded. Well written, well acted, and superb graphics (especially on Caesar). Not just a good genre/sci-fi film... this is a good movie, full stop.

wolf of wallstreet 9/10. thought it was an entertaining movie and didn't seem long at all even though time-wise it was.

Odd Thomas 6/10
I was pretty surprised it was a good movie 80's/90's vibe the chicks in it were nice! especially Addison Timlin!

Some of the acting was appalling but overall good flick!

It's on Netflix btw

The Midnight After
8/10

I literally just watched it at VIFF and it was hilariously funny and also scared the shit out of me at certain moments (mostly loud bangs, sudden appearances, that kind of thing). Great acting, strange plot and ending, but I would watch it again and recommend it. HK movie though.

Gone Girl 8.5/10

Refreshing change of pace from watching several superhero/3d movies in a row

If you liked Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, I think you'll like this movie.

it came from a jap novel. turned out big but then people started post bombing him and complaining about how slow the story was coming along in the series. so he quickly came up with an ending to end it; a more of a fuck u bitches type mentality.

movie was NOT bad, ending was a tad slow and wtf as there might be a sequel (if they have enough money). had great potential at the beginning..

The fault in our stars. I read the book 4 yrs ago, saw the movie... really realy good 9/10. the pace kept it going real good. 12 million budget, 300 million... great investment.
