if ur ever on some film-critique forums that's pretty much the majority view; it's also noted oscar voters don't have time to watch the films to vote on winners (just on nominations) so it's suggested that people voted for BigHero6 because it's Disney

I found the Lego movie to be pretty meh, it had a good cast and some funny moments but the "story" was nothing special.

Boyhood 9/10 From a film making standpoint, taking 12 years to film a movie and capturing each year is an experiment that succeeded and should have been awarded best movie.

I found it more entertaining than Birdman. Fuck the academy.

Saw most of House At the End of the Street last night, the usual pile of plot holes that movies of that genre have but some nice twists.

Good to hear the theme song again and see some of the casts.

Went and saw Kingsman on Thursday. Wasn't expecting too much going in but man, it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Personally I'd say it was two hours well spent. 8.5/10

Nightcrawler 9/10 - Jake does an amazing job as a brilliant creepy dude. Well acted and well shot.

The Interview 4/10 - A few funny moments but overall just dumb and formula driven. Would've been choked if I paid to see it. Thanks Netflix.

Still Alice 8.5/10

Still a very good movie despite some changes from the book.

A must watch if youre interested in seeing the effects of alzheimer's on a person or if you know somebody with some form of dementia.

I went in with a pretty solid and high expectation for it and it exceeded it. I did not know the movie was rated R. The trailer made me think that since the main cast is a young kid it wouldn't be too violent or anything like that. I was pleasantly surprised.

Brick Mansions 5/10 - I actually really liked it. Good fighting and parkour(or whatever the fuck that's called) scenes. Rza was funny. Plot was decent. I would like to rate it higher but it is kinda cheesy as one would expect. However, with PW's death I think I look at it a bit differently. It was nice to see him in a movie again and it reminded me that I was saddened by his passing. Movie was dedicated to him too.

Nightcrawler 8/10

Would have been a 9 if not for the awful ending. It's like they had no idea how to end it. It reminded me of an SNL skit that just went nowhere and they cut to commercial. Only instead of a 5 minute skit, it was an awesome movie up until that point.
