Avengers: Age of Ultron 5/10

it just felt lacking to me, and it felt more like a cheesy soap opera filmed on a studio lot
wasn't horrible, wasn't great

Avengers: Age of Ultron 5/10

Pretty much what Stylin said (there's a first!)

The action scenes are SO BAD. The goofy hulk flying around looks really stupid, especially when he's on screen with an actor.

Either make a cartoon or don't, the combination doesn't work unless it's Roger Rabbit or something.

Unfriended: 9/10

Watched it online and was just planning to have it run in the background. I was thoroughly entertained and watching it on a normal PC monitor made the experience even more engaging.

Advice: Watch it on a PC or mac monitor as if you were playing on your computer. Watch it alone.

Straight Outta Compton: 10/10

Fuck the police comin' straight from the underground

hitman 47. maybe it's me but back in the days hitman was all about sneaking up on people.

action and car chases were shit at the beginning.

they didn't explain too much on the other characters... which was disappointing.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation 9/10 way better than expected. Action, humour, effects. Rebecca Ferguson kicked ass. I forgot how much I hate Tom Cruise for a while.

Trainwreck 3/10 - an actual train wreck. I love Bill Hader, Amy Schumer, and Judd Apatow and I still can't believe how much I didn't like this movie. I maybe laughed twice. They are all above this. They can do better.

The Man From Nowhere. 8/10 Korean movie. It's like John Wick but varied. Good movie on netflix, check it out. If you like revenge and vengeance movies, this one is damn well done.

Have you seem the original? IMO it's a lot better.

Ant Man 8.5/10

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lighthearted, great cast and solid action.

Mad Max: Fury Road 6.5/10 - Kinda had a higher then normal expectation since the reviews were so strong so maybe that skewed my view. It was ok I guess. Weak acting but crazy cars and action. Worth the watch but didn't live up to the hype IMO.

604STIG 09-04-2015 10:10 AM

Mad Max Fury Road: 7.5/10
I purposely waited for the hype and hooplah to die down around this movie before watching it, i'm very glad that i did. Great action, enjoyed it, but it might have been better had they cut about another 15 minutes out of it.

Ulic Qel-Droma 09-04-2015 10:45 AM

if u watched it on a little screen, with little speakers, it totally takes away from the experience.

you gotta be fully immersed for this type of movie.

i agree they coulda taken 15min outta the movie though.

SkinnyPupp 09-04-2015 10:56 AM

Yup if you didn't see it in theatres, you might as well not bother. Lots of movies are like that. A 7 score is fair since you're only getting about 70% of the experience, if that

pinn3r 09-04-2015 11:41 AM

MI: Rogue Nation 8/10
Straight Outta Compton 9/10

Sinister 2 3/10
thoroughly disappointed... they shouldn't have made a sequel. all cheap jump scares and there never was any "horror"

dat_steve 09-04-2015 11:43 AM

watched mad max again at home (saw it when it came out in the theatre). i can say that the experience is in fact 30% better when you are immersed in the theatre's sound system; the citadel war party rolling scenes are wayyyy more menacing.

mako 09-04-2015 02:15 PM

I thought IMAX was the only way to go for MadMax

StylinRed 09-04-2015 03:05 PM

for Mad Max, if you have a nice sound system that will really help for home viewing, but even then you need a nice big screen, like 100" if not much bigger (felt 'meh' on a 75")

Lomac 09-04-2015 11:11 PM

Seven Psychopaths
8/10

Christopher Walkens, Colin Farrell and Woody Harrelson? Kinda hard to go wrong with that sort of casting. Much like Cabin in the Woods, it's a self-aware, metacinema satire... though of the crime genre instead of horror, and it manages to straddle the line between black comedy and serious pretty damn well. It seems like one of those movies where you can watch it three or four times and still catch new levels that the director was aiming for.

Definitely worth watching!
