Ernest and Celestine 9/10

It's a kids movie that reminds me of Madaline a bit. Animation has a real French feel to it. Plot was for kids, but had a good message. I liked it!

American Sniper

7/10

Pretty decent movie; apparently based upon a real life sniper... but not too sure how much of it is fact and how much fiction
The guy did apparently score 160+ kills in his 4 tours in Iraq though

Terminator Genisys 6/10

It was perfectly fine for what it was. The CGI terminators were SO bad... Young Arnold looked like Hulk in the Avengers movies, in that he looks like he weighs less than a pound in the real world, and moves so fake. I still can't believe they haven't figured out how to properly animate humans yet.

The cartoon school bus and cartoon helicopters were bad too, but meh what do you expect nowadays...

Acting was pretty emotionless and generally meh. Cool story and neat format though!

no james cameron, no good.

that's all i gotta say. they keep trying to play off the original terminators. same lines, same shit.

like bart simpson's “i didn't do it!"

every terminator since terminator 2 has been playing off the first two. except with shitty directing, shitty acting, shitty story.

I actually haven't watched any of the Terminator movies since T2, so I thought the throwbacks were fine and in some cases pretty funny. If you watched the others, I can see how it would be fatiguing for sure

For me a 6/10 action movie released in 2015 is actually pretty damn good, way beyond my expectations at least.

^^I was waiting for your review. Kept expectations fairly low and it ended up being pretty good. Like you, I'm quite surprised that CGI isn't at the level to make things appear even remotely real. I can spot that shit a mile away so they might as well use paper mache instead of pretending it's supposed to be real.

All in all, what they did with the timeline saved the movie IMO. Everything else was mostly just tolerated.

I think they just cheaped out, because if you watched Terminator Salvation, there was a young arnold in it too and he looked real, far more realistic than the one in Genysis

also, some fans spliced the scenes from the original Terminator in with Genysis and it looked way better, wonder why the director/etc didn't just opt to do that

The Imitation Game 9/10
Despite the inaccuracies, I enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better films I've watched in recent years.

Ex Machina 8.5/10
Characters were well thought out. Really liked how simple the story was, it's basically 3 characters mind gaming each other.

hunger games. whatever the new one is part 2. solid 7.8/10

MUCH better than the horrible waste of time that was the last one, and better than the second one. it moved pretty quickly and finished up the story so i never have to watch Jlaw in a "look at me how important and strong i am" movie again. thank god i hate the bitch.

The Hateful Eight 8.5/10

Great script by Tarantino with typical blood splatter everywhere. Dang it was a long build up (literally 3 hr movie), but keep in mind it's Tarantino so you know you're in for a good ride, just the pacing moved a bit slow here and there.

Few wtf moments in between so make sure you stay awake because a few puzzles to piece together. Would recommend because it's like solving a mystery.

Room 6/10: the script sucked to be honest. I premise was good, decent first 45 minute, but then it went sour. Didn't think the acting was that good, guess I was expecting more.

I was expecting too much of an ending.

Joy 7/10: J Law is ok in the movie, she did great, but I'm tired of seeing her in every movie. I wish I knew a bit more of what the movie is about. Solid case, some good build up of the story but i hate how every shitty deal is thrown at her; makes me want to punch the rest of the cast.

Concussion 8/10: I gotta say, Will smith did a great job in this one. Alex Baldwin was good too. Very solid case and pacing and based on true events. Can't say it would be best picture. Will versus Leo in best actor, I would still choose Leo.
