It's based on an old French children's book (I know, I know.) The voice actors include people like Jeff Bridges, James Franco, Paul Rudd, Benicio del Toro, and Ricky Gervais. Though it's definitely a little heavy for kids to fully understand (at least the typical North American ones that want nothing more than a Shrek or How to Tame Dragons to keep the occupied), it's still a beautiful film that even adults will enjoy. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the story sequences, and it will leave you wondering where the onion ninjas are hiding at the end of the film. It's well voiced as well.
Personally it's in my top three of movies I've seen all year so far and highly suggest everyone check it out. It's on the USA Netflix if you have it, too.
Zoolander 2: 3/10 - Just recycled jokes from the first one. Nothing new, nothing original. So yeah, terrible. Although, since i loved the first one, it did remind me how funny the original was when I first saw it. The 3 points is basically for that reason. Ha!
Sisters: 6.5/10 - Pretty funny, good characters, some really funny scenes. John Cena's character was good. It's what you would expect from a Fey/Poehler movie.

Had some incredibly funny and LOL moments, but as a whole, not that great of a movie. I was mostly getting tired and annoyed by Galifinakis's accent.

47 Ronin was a entertaining watch, but I didn't like the CGI or the pacing.
John Wick is a great revenge action flick. Keanu really rocks the gun-fighting action sequences. It's like he's "The One" or something. I look forward to the sequel.
Great Netflix original. Never actually heard of the historical event before but this is pretty much a modern day 300.

Just saw The Beast & The Boy on netflix last night! 9/10 super awesome movie, i fell in love with the animation and the main character. No wonder this movie won Best Animation award at the Japanese Academy
Starts strong, ends very flat and meh. It's like they have 2 separate writers for the scripts nowadays.
i watched it too, the beginning was ok. The setup was ok but I didn't like how it was just hashed together. The villan to me was meh, didn't also like how enchanted was presented. Action was ok at best, I just don't like how there's so many people in the movie and everyone had such a short story to build the characters.
wouldn't watch again, i did like Joker and Harley combo, they totally stole the show.
The Big Short 9/10 - Great movie. Well directed, well acted. Every character was great. Awesome insight into the whole housing bubble and how it got there. Very enjoyable watch.
Secret In Their Eyes 7/10 - Dark subject matter(as a parent) but good acting, storyline and pacing. Good twist at the end. Worth the watch.

I watched it a long time ago because of Julia Robert's name on the list. The original was a foreign firm and I heard it was done much much better. I didn't think the pacing of the movie was fast enough. Wish I watched the foreign original instead.
Honestly it was better than most movies I saw this year, it had some faults sure, but the sheer awesomeness of everything else allowed me to overlook those faults
This really should have gotten a wide release in theatres
^ Retina massaging graphics and effects for sure, but the faults are; weak to no plot, almost zero character development, and poor voice acting. I actually had to watch it in three attempts because the plot was so dry. Kept watching it because FF movie, and graphics looked too good.
It was a "fine" experience, marred by shitty CG and dull "action" sequences. It felt like when they were writing the script, they would just use the words "action" and "3d gimmick" throughout, and just made up stuff on the spot.
I really thought Fury Road would inspire all action movies made after it, but that isn't happening so far. I guess it wasn't popular to make them want to make action movies better instead of more popular with dull audiences.
