The Purge: Election Year

6/10
Worst of all the Purge movies, I really like Purge movies. It didn't even feel like a Purge movie, was just a random thriller style

Rogue One

8.5/10

Really really good, liked everything about it. Overall, extremely good movie IMO
Definitely worth watching IMO

Moana 8/10
I really like the flow of the movie. Is really relax and the music and visual is great. Story is predictable but the voice acting is spot on. Is an enjoyable movie to bring your kids or gf to.

Rogue one 9/10
I mean is star wars! There are some funny quote here and there, I know what the ending is going to be like so didn't really surprise there. The only part I didn't like was Donnie Yen's character. i mean they just force him and the character into the movie. Also his acting wasn't that great. Maybe coz he was playing a blind man, or maybe coz he is speaking english (VS his other movies which he speaks Chinese so he is more confortable?), or maybe I am just used to seeing him in action movies beating up all the beat guys. I don't like him at all in this movie. And he just keep repeating this annoying line. Just something is odd with his character.

Fantastic Beasts and where to find them 6/5/10
I don't know why I didn't really like this movie. Is just meh. To me is like Pokemon live mix in with some action. There isn't much explaination on character and not much character development. Didn't go into depth why the bad guys turn bad. I am sure the book is much better. Visually is not bad.

Movies I want to watch
Assassin's creed
Underworld BLood wars
Movie that might be worth watching this year?:
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
The LEGO Batman Movie
Logan
Beauty and the Beast(This is a must coz of Emma Watson and is a true classic!)
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
Power Rangers (Maybe depends on review)
Ghost in the Shell
The Boss Baby
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Alien: Covenant
Annabelle 2
Wonder Woman
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Despicable Me 3
Spider-Man: Homecoming
War for the Planet of the Apes

There are most likely a few that I miss. Seems like this year is there is going to a lot of movies worth watching.

Modern classic IMO. Very talented director and amazing chemistry between the leads.

The worst one and hopefully the last. Kate Beckinsale is the only good thing about this movie.

assassin's creed - went in with low expectations, was not disappointed. A very objective 4/10.

It may be slightly enjoyable if you didn't play any of the games and know absolutely nothing of the premise, but if you're looking for a good movie adaptation of good games, save your money.

I enjoyed Hateful Eight, but I don't think it's a 10/10 though

What would you rate Kill Bill + Pulp Fiction? I'm curious, because I find both of those movies better than H8

The only QT movies i'd rate 10/10 are Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction

Though i haven't seen H8 yet.

i'm being generous as I do enjoy these films, for someone who is not into slow paced movie, no huge explosions, they might score this super low as in wtf, I thought this is like the movie HEAT.

I did like Chris Pine in this, actually I've never liked Chris at all but he did a legit job in this one. The score was good, dialogue was on par, characters was good, Jeff Bridges was a bonus.

best film of the year? not sure, as I've yet watch Manchester by the water or la La land.
I totally missed this one thanks for posting. I watched it the other night and enjoyed it, like you said a bit of a slower pace but well done IMO.

Really liked the movie, I'm no critic or anything, but it was very enjoyable. A little 'artsy', but very well done. Definitely worth taking the SO to go see

Rogue One 6.5/10 - it was kinda meh. Since it's only a small blip within the Star Wars universe I found myself not really caring about the characters at all. The battle scenes were done well but some of the CGI was yuck. Sarcastic robots were funny.

Finally had the time to see Rogue One

I liked it...9/10
It's a nice departure from the usual and imo gives you a nice background to the rebellion
I wanted to rewatch Episode 4 almost immediately after

K2SO is an og.
And yeah, wasn't a big fan of CGI Tarkin and Leia either.

Underworld: Blood Wars - 6.5/10

I've never seen any of the movies in this series. This was not bad, easy to pick up on the storyline from what I had missed by not watching the previous ones.

XXX: The Return of Xander Cage

7/10

-got free tickets to advance screening to watch this action flick.

-great stunts and fighting scenes. Donnie Yen's fight scenes are phenomenal. -great choreography.

Nina Dobrev is hot! Mr Ip Man's fight scenes save this film from its predictable plot and lame dialogue. Diesel is okay.

Fury - 8.5/10 ; awesome ww2 flick, my soft spot for movie subject matter so may be slightly high but loved it, very accurate too. Used the only working Tiger tank in the world to film one of the key scenes.

Avengers Civil War - 6/10 Over these movies. next.

13 Hours: Secret Soldiers of Benghazi - 8/10 - probably the best war movie I've ever seen aside from Black Hawk Down and Fury. Had some funny moments / oneliners that i did not expect in a war movie

the only thing that bothered me was...
Spoiler!

Spoiler!
Read the book, it provides a lot more details. Tanto is described as loading up a bag with over 30 magazines. That doesn't include all the other mags each guy was carrying. They also carried several belts of ammo for their machine guns. They had so much ammo because they were a defensive force and knew to repell any attack they would need to establish massive fire superiority. (And true to the movie, they figured getting any support would be difficult)

In regards to your second issue,
Spoiler!

An interesting read is the House Select Committee report on Benghazi released two years after the attack in 2014. Remember that in September 2012 Obama was up for re-election in two months, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was planning a future presidential run.

The day after the attack, Hillary publicly stated the attack was a spontaneous mob reaction to a controversial anti-muslim video posted on YouTube. The Obama administration continued this lie for two weeks. The House report confirms that the same day Hillary made her public statement about the video lie, she sent a private email to her daughter saying she knew the attack was preplanned and orchestrated by Al Queda. They stuck with the lie because Hillary was the one responsible for lowering security standards at all foreign embassies and compounds, and they knew she would get blamed if the attack was preplanned.

There is speculation that Hillary also ordered the Annex security team to stand down when they were ready to move to defend the ambassador compound. Hillary was afraid of the political repercussions of a secret CIA base being discovered if the team launched a rescue. The Annex CIA chief was in touch with Washington during the event, and in the House report all the security team members testified they received a specific order not to go. The CIA chief and the Department Of Defense testified no hold order was given. The report accepted the testimony of the CIA chief.

Wiki: House Select Committee on Benghazi

The wiki gets interesting after you learn one of Hillary's advisors on Benghazi before and after the attack is Sidney Blumenthal, who was employed by the Clinton Foundation (not the government) and had private business and financial interests in Benghazi. He sent emails to her private server, the hard drive of which the Clintons deleted when Congress requested they turn it over. I'm not making this up.
